I live in Queensland but it's on the news all the time. |

Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 36414 | December 11th, 2006 at 12:05am The Blue Mountains one was really close to a lot of friends (and my) houses.
My best friend even got told that he should be prepared to evacuate.
& my old school (where my younger brother still goes) was on the news because it got evacuated.
It smelt disgusting.
But I think the fire is out now, or at least contained |

Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 36414 | December 11th, 2006 at 12:36am Yeah we got told that when the fires were around here.
The place where my mum works (a preschool somewhere) got told that they should saty inside, which really sucked for them because it was extremely hot & they had no air-conditioning |

Age: 38 Gender: Female Posts: 483 | December 11th, 2006 at 05:41pm Lucky thing about living in the city, is that there's not much that fires can really burn
Although when that one at the bush fires was really bad, driving to work over the harbour bridge was a nightmare, you couldn't see that far in front of you.
It must have been really bad if all that smoke had travelled all that way.
What scares me most though is that we havent even really started summer yet and there's already so many fires burning.
Hopefully the rain today will help a bit. |
