He was not severely hurt and was taken to the hospital afterward. He will still be with the band at the EMAs tomorrow night. Tokio Hotel’s clean cut image may have won them millions of fans across the world, but it seems they’re far from being the ideal teenage role models - especially drummer Gustav Schafer, who crashed his car into a tram! The 20-year-old musician was in his BMW 3-Series on Tuesday afternoon in the German city of Magdeburg when the accident happened. He reportedly overtook a line of traffic and drove straight over tram tracks which had been blocked off. His car was then hit by an oncoming tram, skidded into the right lane of traffic and hit two further cars. Schafer and his two passengers - Katharina Kretzschmar (29), the sister of SCM sport director Stefan Kretzschmar, and Denny E. (29) from Hamburg - were taken by ambulance to hospital, although they were only slightly hurt. The drummer may still be feeling pain, however, as he is set to be charged with bodily harm due to negligence. But he shouldn’t let it get him down - he will appear with his Tokio Hotel bandmates at the European Music Awards in Liverpool, where they are up for two gongs.

Quote As many TH fans have already learned, Gustav Schafer has been in a car accident in Germany. The injuries, Thank God, were nonfatal, but what happened and the fact that he survived is quite amazing. He was driving, and he ignored the blocked signals when a tram was passing by. That tram hit the car, injuring those in the car. Gustav will be okay, as will the others in the car, though he may be pressed negligence charges. hm, Im not quite sure what I think about this. I love Gustav with all my heart, and no not like OMGIWANTURBBYZ!11!1! The second I found out about the car accident, I lay in my bed, hugging my teddy [yes I have one] and burst into tears. Just because he's ~famous doesn't mean he deserves special treatment Paris Hilton. However, I believe Gustav is a really good person and he knows that he did something wrong. We are humans, we make mistakes. So now that he is in an accident and its his fault, he's automatically a bad person. Come on, we know better than that. I hope he doesn't go to jail, but even if he is pressed, it's better than him losing his life. To think I saw him on Thursday, October 30th, and he was safe, well and happy, and this strikes. I just hope he pulls through. He is expected to, and I believe he is strong enough too. I believe there is a God out there. Gustav cheated death, and an accident like this has most likely chances of being fatal. God, please, keep Gustav safe. I love him so much. [/i] Im sorry, but thats bullshit. Clean Cut image? Wow. They were never clean cut. Not at all! Specially with Tom and his one nighters. He is a human. Gustav made a mistake and he hopefully learned from it.
