Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 221 | May 13th, 2007 at 12:41pm My very first musical inspiration was Britney Spears. When I was 8, I really got into her. I wanted to be a singer more than anything because of her and for that, I will one day meet her and thank her.
I also liked Avril Lavigne quite a bit, mainly because she was the "normal" kind of girl and she didn't dance and played guitar (which was uber cool). I also always admired Alicia Keys. I think she's an amazing singer, pianist and songwriter.
Believe it or not, the person who inspired me to play piano is my best friend.
Then I got into Good Charlotte quite a bit. Not so much anymore, but they got me into other kinds of music. I was also obsessed with Evanescence and still am. They are amazing and I will love them forever. Green Day is my favorite band and biggest source of inspiration. I love how they take up a stage with just three people. Their live shows are amazing.
MCR has obviously inspired me. I am really blown away by Gerard's writing style and his expressions when he performs. Like in Helena when he fans himself with his hand, I love that so much. Ray is an amazing guitarist as well. I love his fingering. Snow Patrol is another amazing band with great melodies. And they've all inspired me. |

Jepha Howard.
Jeph because i love to watch him play Bass,
he is amazing, and an amazing stage preformer.
I'm starting to play Bass in November when i can get a Bass for my birthday because of him.
Syn: he may play Guitar, but he was the one who first got me actually listening to music, not just listening to the song as a whole, but trying to listen to all the different parts that make up a song. At first, i wanted to be a guitarist like him,
but i thought that was near enough impossible

Aside from that, mostly classical music.
I know, I'm weird. But I do rock hard with my classical music!!! Woot! |

Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 66328 | June 3rd, 2007 at 10:12pm The first real female singers that I looked up were Amy lee and Morgan Lander, I just though their voices were so out there and I wanted to have something like that, Amy for her operatics and Morgan's screaming and raw voice.
Then a sort of voice, mentality and stage influence I've had recently is Faris Rotter. The man is seriously the craziest thing I've ever seen on a stage, he attacks and goes crazy and just does whatever he feels like. He's really smart too, with his lyrics and the way he thinks, it's hard to describe, but there's just a vibe that comes off of the guy that I wish I could have. |

BelatedRomance:My biggest influences guitar wise are Eddie Van Halen, Ray Toro, Frank Iero[stage presence wise], and Pat Mcmanaman.
All of them make me aspire to be a great guitarist and I push myself to try to play up to their level or at least TRY to.
Vocaly, it would be Amy Lee, definatly.
She has such a strong voice and it fits in with her bands style of music so well.
It also amazes me how she can write such powerful lyrics.
I have many more, but it would definatly take too long to list them

Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 1067 | July 14th, 2007 at 12:46am I have been singing since I was a kid, but I way always shit down until I tried out for a solo in my school choir. It was the first time I had tried out for anything or sung in front of anyone for years. Not only did I get the part, but every part I had ever tried out for after. I did not start really celebrating my voice however, until Gerard Way and Bert McCracken came into my life. The both of them made me want to use my voice all of my life. This sounds bad, but its thanks to them I am no longer going to college. I only did it because I felt like I needed to, but they inspired me to chose singing as a career. |
