They're not always going to sound the same as previous albums or whatever. they're grown and matured over the years and changed their sound a bit. I think they sound awesome XD and the black parade album is very, very awesome. I think it's like a breath of fresh air. It's different : ) |

Sold out means where you write a song for the purpose of attracting a certain
group or youth. Selling out is NOT becoming big or selling loads of
CD's , because in that case Evanescence and Slipknot sold out ages ago.
But they have not sold out. I don't think they ever will. Gerard is the man that
will never stop believing in himself and the band, because if he didn't, the band and
himself would not be here today. Or at least not making music together.
The moment Gerard Way says ;
'I think I'll write a song about sex to fit in with all the other jerks out there'
Is the moment when we know My Chemical Romance have sold out.

Posts: 408 | June 14th, 2007 at 06:04pm I think they're not "sellouts" but they have changed......they changed for the better though.....I'd rather have them be a mellower more classy MCR than the drunk,drugged up hating the world MCR.....I'm not saying I didn't like those albums...I thought they were freakin awesome but I'd much rather see them getting bigger and better instead of staying small.They deserve all the fame that they've earned. And if that means they must be HUGE to get the kind of recognition they deserve then so be it. |

I think -as others have said- that to say they have sold out just cause this album is different is ridiculous. I personally think Revenge is different to Bullets but the fans that have liked them from the beginning of their career as a band didn't say they had sold out because they gained more fans and slightly changed their musical and lyrical style so why is now any different? What do you even define as selling out? |

If you think about it, maybe we should be happy that they're on MTV and such, making a change in the mainstream music scene. In my opinion MCR were, and still are, WAY more different and unique than a lot of artists out there today. TBP is creative, whether or not it's different than Revenge.. MCR did not, and I don't think will ever, sell out. |
