What's everyone giving up for lent?
Usually in my house, we give up our favorutie food, and we don't watch excessive tv.
I'm giving up my favourites! Crisps (chips for americans) and Peanut Butter Cups.

I volunteer at my local community centre, so I'll spend some more time there.

I figured God wouldn't be too mad if I didn't go to church as long as I prayed and was a good person. We do have a prayer group at my school, but it's a tight little clique, and to be honest I'm too intimidated to join. I thought maybe it was a nice idea if we had a little payer group in here, for whoever wanted to join in, to maybe help each other, or just talk about our faith. I'm sorry if thats a stupid idea, I just feel far more comfortable in here, than amongst most of my peers.

i know how you feel, there isn't even a prayer group at my school, there was last year but it was stopped because there weren't enough members. + i don't go to church because i don't feel i get anything out of my local one, it feels like a chore when i do go and i just don't enjoy it. although i do attend my friend's church every so often because there's a massive youth church there and its great. i'd go there every week but its like miles away. D:
also, i don't really have any christian friends. well, the girl who's church i sometimes go to calls herself a christian, but i don't think she prays much or reads her bible and she doesn;t really lead a christian life, so its hard talking to her about like jesus and stuff.
so yeh, this would really help me as i'm having a hard time atm and its been difficult praying because i dont really have anyone to like...spiritually support me if that makes sense? i trust jesus though and i know things will get better through his power (:

It's good that you stick to what you believe and don't feel like you have to give up your faith for other people.

i know some christians think genesis is the gospel truth (lulz, no pun
intended), but others reckon it's more like a sort of guideline.

And my friends at church are some of the most amazing people I've met. Just being with them makes me feel closer to God. |
