Age: 29 Gender: Female Posts: 26077 | July 8th, 2009 at 05:59pm ^ That's gorgeous. The texture you used on the bottom is really nice. Usually centering is kind of weird for me, but I like it on this banner. The only thing I have to say is that Frank's skin looks a little too orangey for me. But other than that, it's great. :]
I made this last night, I don't know how I feel about it yet. Any c/c is appreciated.
with a bit more texture overtop |

I love this, but especially for the lyrics. Although...they don't really fit the image, but I do that all the time. I guess it's a bad habit. |

Age: 29 Gender: Female Posts: 2822 | July 9th, 2009 at 08:09pm hey i have a problem for anyonw who uses GIMP for Linux:
im not that really good with GIMP yet, but i can do like basic stuff. but no matter how hard i try, i cannot use fonts. its really confusing =[. it adds like the texts layers and stuff, but i cant like move the text once its there or anything and all the fonts look basically the same. do i have to download fonts? if so, how?
same with brushes. i just have the basic brushes, like the ivy one and sparks and stuff. i tried to download a bloodsplatter brush, but i cant figure out how to get it onto GIMP haha im not great with computers. im not sure which GIMP it is, but i have Linux on my computer now, so im still not great with like downloading and stuff.
i know my questions were kinda vague, but if anyone could help me, id love you forever =] |

i know my questions were kinda vague, but if anyone could help me, id love you forever =] You can move a text layer with the "move layer" tool. I don't know about the fonts because I'm on Vista and the fonts automatically are there in any program I need to use them in. I don't know if it's supposed to be like that for Linux, too.
Brushes in GIMP is something I figured out just recently. You can add new brushes by moving images with the file extension GBR into the Brushes folder for GIMP. If you want them to use the foreground color, you'll need to save them in Grayscale.

Edit:
I made a new banner. It's of Kate Beckinsale.
A little too big for the page.
c/c, anyone? |

Age: 29 Gender: Female Posts: 26077 | July 15th, 2009 at 10:03am teaboy.: Everything looks really nice and I like the blending. The only thing for me is that there's a bit too much texture on them, and it's kind of distracting from the actual pictures. |

they're meant to be like that, it's the effect i wanted xD
the scratchy thing is actually the background and the pictures are set onto that.

Just my opinion.
I love the second banner/graphic thing though, it's amazing.
I love everything about it - the idea, the colouring, everything.

Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 20963 | July 17th, 2009 at 06:52pm That's interesting. I'm wondering why you keep making images that look rather apocalypse-y. It does look cool and not glaringly fake. What does the text say? |

Age: 50 Gender: Male Posts: 2218 | July 17th, 2009 at 07:51pm Wasting time really, the writing is just a watermark, it won't really stop people who know how to get rid of them as they're easily removed but still, it's pretty annoying having others steal your work.
& I like turning a pretty picture into a devastating scene.
I'm really into concept illustration.
