They have taught me that it's okay to be different, it's okay to be myself. They've taught me to be strong and that I can make it out of whatever troubles I get into.
And honestly, I'm not going to drop into a pit of depression if they ever end because I'll remember their music and how they brought all these messages. They wouldn't want me to be hurt because of that anyways. |

They've taught me to be myself, not to take anyone's shit, and never let them take me alive.
They've also taught me that, despite all my cynicism and soul-searching, I do love music and it can save lives.
Recently I've learned Gerard is just a man, not a hero and he can't save me, but he can show me the way.
EDIT: Shit, that pun wasn't intended... |

Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 125 | August 14th, 2007 at 03:31pm It's okay to be different and don't change who you are to make people happy. But I also learned some funny lessons....
Mikey taught me that:
it's okay to put forks in toasters
its okay to bring heaters into showers
its okay to leave the tea on at night
Frank taught me that:
its okay to dress like a princess with your tiara
Gerard taught me that:
its okay to be emotional when singing
Bob taught me that:
its okay to get caught on fire when playing the drums cause you will recover quite nicely
Ray taught me that:
you may not know it now, but one day your hair will be worshiped. |

Age: 30 Gender: Female Posts: 116 | September 2nd, 2007 at 01:21am They taught me a lot... First they taught me to be myself and to let people insult me all they want, because I AM MYSELF. Second they taught me to stand strong anytime. Third they taught me to be courageous and brave. I think it is most because of what Gerard went through, I admire him so much for that... |

2. To accept myself for who I am physically.
3. That there is no protective gear in croquet.
4. To take no shit.
5. That it's fun to tackle your highschool mascot.
6. Crayons taste yummy.

Age: 30 Gender: Female Posts: 1178 | September 3rd, 2007 at 11:49am They taught me it's okay to be myself, even if that means being alone, because then I'm not acting as someone else... if that makes any sense :S
They also opened my eyes to another side of life, and another way of looking at things. For example, I think Early Sunsets Over Monreoville, Demolition Lovers and Drowning Lessons are beautiful love songs. And they are so beautiful because they are self-destructive and agressive. Beautiful. |
