They did it with I Don't Love You over a year before the album came out. I was trying to figure out if it was a cover song but I couldn't hear Gerard so I was watching his lips to see if I could tell what he was saying. Gerard awhile back did say they had written another song.

I know that IDLY and Disenchanted were one of like 3 songs that survived MCR's chopping and cutting. I think Cancer was in that bunch too. And Welcome to the Black Parade had been in Gee's head since the very beginning. Me had a mix-up. Anyway. It appears they were experimenting with the song.
