Took a bunch of photographs the other day, I'm not sure about how many I'll upload on Flickr, though. I might add some later. c/c would be awsome, as always

I have been soo out of touch with the internet lately; sorry. It's finals time at school and everything. I have a lot going on.

I sold my first photo; it was this one

as an 8x10 for $30. He has asked me to do a series similar to this shot and I am working on it now, so hopefully I can get a few more pennies out of it! : D

Does this technically make me a professional?

I'll be back in a few minutes I think with the shots I took in that vein. :]

Very crisp! I like the second one. The background isn't too distracting, and the three snuggled-up flowers are placed well, not to mention the spot-on expsure - the purples are dark and rich, and the white is bright. I love that shock of orange too.

Nice deep color! You should get a Flickr account for your images; MySpace compresses images poorly and makes them look bad, and Flickr compresses them awesomely and makes them look sharp and tasty. xD

I made a lightbox ages ago, used it a bunch, and then my cat climbed inside and decided the tissue paper would be a fun toy. So I made another one tonight. New from me:

holier than thou.:

thank you!
i love your bowling pictures; great colors! and your lightbox images are great too.

i do have a flickr, but the fact that you can only upload x-amount of file space per month frusterates me. and i cant seem to justify paying for a premium account.
however, if anyone wants to see what pictures i have uploaded, feel free to takea look at my flickr account.
the pics i have up there arn't great ... they're from a local show i went to in february. the lighting wasn't great ... i dont know how to use the camera very well, aha. it's my mom's. but i did get some decent pictures, i think.

first of all; you're photos are great, and not just this time!
i'd be really glad if you could explain how to make a lightbox, cause i often have problems with lightening shots like that.

Thank youu. : D

The lightbox is kind of easy.

Image

Just get a typical box (we went to the store and bought ours so that it would be clean and new), some white tissue paper, and large construction paper for background colors.

Take the box and cut out large squares from three of the sides, but make sure you leave a big enough border that the box is still sturdy. Leave one side intact; this is the bottom.

Tape the tissue paper across each large square opening; make sure it isn't loose and fluttery, but not pulled tight either, since that could make it tear.

Then cut your construction paper so that you can slide it inside the box...push one side up to the top and let the paper curve downward and out of the box. Position two lamps on either side, maybe even one on top if you can, and there you go.

You can move the lamps around of course; fluorescent is the best bulb choice and I had to go buy lamps in order to get proper ones.

The whole set of mine is here.
