I'm curious as to where that particular one came from. I looked pornography up in the Oxford Dictionary and Thesaurus, and the deffinition I found proved to be quite different. Pornography - n 1. Explicit description or exhibition of sexual activity in literature, films, etc. 2. Literature, etc, characterized by this. Oh, it was just dictionary.com. Explicit and Obscene are very similar, so they arent that different.

Chances of it being off are a lot less likely than that of the internet. The internet is a pretty sketchy place for things like decsriptions. Even for things like obscene and explicit. When I referred to my copy, they are very different creatures with little similarity. Just a thought.

I was getting at that people define explicit and obscene in differnet ways, so its hard to set standards to something such as pornograpyhy. I thought about looking it up, but I actually have no idea where my dictionary is. I may have left it at school over winter break, thank you for the alternate definition.

The pornography that involves harmful and illegal stuff is wrong but other than that stuff like playboy is okay. Plus even with pornstars before anything can be done they are made sure to be clean and have regular checks so they are safe. so overall aslong as it doesnt contain things like younger kids and rape then it does not bother me.

But I don't agree, because look at all the sickos out there. They could kidnap a young girl, and rape her on tape, or force her to pose nude for a camera. She would basically be held captive, and her captor would basically force her to do explicit things on camera , or webcam etc. I have heard about it a few time on the news, so I know that it does happen.

Of course something along the lines of what you stated is wrong. It would be wrong regardless of whether it was tapes and produced as porn or if it was just done for the amusement of those involved. What you described is called Rape-Porn, or Slave-Porn, or even Child-Porn. These three kinds of pornography are illegal, because they do not have the consent of all those involved.

Yeah, I know we all need it people but we don't need to see it posted up on your Myspace, in a magazine, or in a video. But one of the biggest reasons why I don't like it is because of people being used and objects. Women espeacially are used a lot just to get a Playboy magazine or something to impress thier boyfriends or whatever...I just don't like it. If they choose so...well...that's different. Than that's thier career choice. Pornography I don't like and I don't want to see it...but if you like being naked that much and join a nude colony...well, that's nothing I really need to know...just as long as I don't need to see it and anyone isn't being used as a sexual object!

The only reason you don't see other creatures doing it, is because they can't. They don't have the same type of intelligence to be able to use the technology we created. Hell, animals are full of 'gang bangs' and 'gang rape' situations. They just don't see it the way humans do. I gotta say that's a very poor comparison to get your point across. If they're happy posing for pictures, than let them be happy. I didn't really make that clear in my other post because I was just referring to the ones that are pressured to do it when they don't want to, because they won't be "accepted" by some group of people. Yet then, once again it is thier choice to follow through with it...personally I wouldn't ever follow through on something like that, just because personally I don't like porn and doing things like that. And as for the first thing you pointed out...well, yeah...of course they can't! You know that probably wasn't the best comparison on my part...lol. Sometimes I put some odd humor or something in my arguements that is totally irrelevant. Honestly, whatever I ment by that at whatever time in the evening it was didn't make sense!

I did read the argument and I actually agreed with what she replied with. 2. We're talking about now, not what's gonna happen in 2,000 years when we're all dead. 3.
