It's down to personal choice at the end of the day. If it turns you on, and you get enjoyment from it, then why not? It's not like it's going to hurt anyone, or damage you.

I agree that maybe for young children, it can give them a skewed vision on sex, and that the age barriers may not work. However, this is nothing you can do about this, unless they make the rules on it stricter.

i agree entirely with this, as there is no stopping it ultimatley but some people get enjoyment, others don't, leave it, you won't need to see it if you don't want to...

You can't ban adult things just because kids might look at it etc. Adults have rights too, you know... I understand that porn on the internet these days is quite widespread - hell, even some websites that are unrelated to porn have some pornographic ads on them - but we can't wrap every child in cotton wool, so to speak.

You really shouldn't try to control what people do in the privacy of their own homes... adults atleast.

I realize that young teens and occasionally children veiw porn online because it's so easy to find so maybe online porn should be banned?

Adults should not object to this, you can get your porn from other places, your just either too lazy to get up and drive to a video store or too ashamed to purchace such smut... and if your ashamed, doesn't that show that you shouldn't be doing it? I don't see anything wrong with it, I would buy mine in plain daylight if I were into that sort of thing (when i am older obviously) I see nothing wrong with porn being purchased and watched but adults.

Why the hell should porn be eradicated from the internet? Yeah, kids may look at it, but surely the blame there rests on the parent[s] shoulders. Although I'm 19 now, when I was younger, my parents downloaded programs on the computer to block out adult content that might have been harmful to us. Where kids and pornography is concerned, parents have to do their research and safeguard their children.

I am not for, nor against it. Sometimes people get "lonely," so to speak. I think that if the actors are of age, and are well-paid for their work[whether emotionally if for personal use, or by money for public use] it should be up to whomever conciters watching it to decide whether it's morally right or not. Sometimes it goes too far, though, like with child pornography and beastiallitty etc. which I personally think is wrong. But I think that if the "actors" and the veiwers are okay with it, let it be.

It's honestly their choice if they want to display their bodies or not. I mean, come on.

It's just that people lose a lot of things when they do it. Not just the one performing the action, but also the people who happen to be viewing it. The person showing their bodies lose their dignity, and people's respect for them (well, sometimes, I suppose), and the person watching might not be willing, and might just, you know, LOOK, or, if you actually DO enjoy it, you're kind of spoiling a good thing called your mind.

How are the actors "losing their dignity"? In all honesty, due to the nature of pornography, it may seem like they are "losing their dignity", but at the end of the day the majority of mainstream porn [and also amateur porn] is performed and acted by people that choose to be in that field. If you've seen pictures etc. from porn awards shows [yeah, they do happen, but I've forgotten the name of them] pretty much all of the porn stars [esp. the women] turn up wearing the tiniest outfits that barely cover their body. And that's in public. The point I'm trying to make is that mainstream porn stars want people to see their body and I doubt very much that they would see it as "losing their dignity".

I don't think they would lose it consciously, but some people would probably see them as something that doesn't have respect for their own body.

I mean, only in my opinion, of course, I think that the impression these people give me is that they could not care less about things such as, say, chastity, or modesty. The thing is, it also affects other people, and not themselves, when they go against things like those.

I do respect your opinion of course, but I just want to say that with things like chastity and modesty about one's body, not everyone believes in things like that. Some people just love having sex in front of a camera, and that, I think, should be fine for them to do. Some people just love showing off their body, and they don't see it as a bad thing. Modesty and chastity doesn't really come into their minds, I don't think.

Yes, I know, and I truly understand what you're saying. I know that some people do enjoy it, and I don't really think it's any of my business to care. I just hope that people know that it's not very advisable to do it sometimes.

...yeah, & we have to realise that at the end of the day, it's a form of entertainment enacted by paid actors who are (hopefully) of consenting age. the worst form of porn is possibly those involving children and basically anyone genuinely unable to defend themselves or stop ppl frm taking advantgae of em.

Some couples actually use porn to stimulate their own sex life, which i think is great. also, i think the stereotype of 'losers' who can only get sex by masturbating in their room to porn videos needs to end. doubtless these people exist, but a lot of ppl get thrills from watching & reading porn who r perfectly healthy, socially & mentally.

Yes it is not hurting anyone.
Like, if I can watch Harry Potter movies, and I enjoy doing that, why can't someone watch porn, especially if they enjoy doing it?
And for like those reasons you listed...those people should just be responsible enough to not....watch/read porn.
BUT
little kids find it "Oooo" so they click it when they read headlines and stuff on youtube...that should be fixed
=S

What exactly do you mean by it being "blatant"?

Because porn can be blatant when you watch it in the privacy of your own home, but it can also be blatant if it's shown on television at an inappropriate timeslot. So what do you mean?

I think, as many people have mentioned above, that porn is only okay as long as the people are willing to do it, and know what they're up for.
Also, almost every boy has looked at porn in their lives before. Its something they do during puberty, it teaches them about sex in a way.

However, I do think that it shouldn't be distributed on the internet so much, so that if I do a google search on something, it doesn't come up. It still needs to be accessable for pubescent boys without their parents finding out.(haha) Also, respect the people who are showing off their bodys for it.

Oh and I hate it on posters in music shops. Thats just gross and not the placefor it.

Men are in porn too. And it doesn't frigging hurt anybody if the actors are of age and consent. They're adults, they can make their own choices.

Here's a thought: just because you can't respect a woman who does porn doesn't mean she doesn't respect herself. Your values aren't universal and if a woman is happy exposing her body, then so be it.

Not all women "lose respect for exploiting themselves" through porn. As I've stated before, majority of the people in the porn industry want to show their bodies off - and not just mainstream porn. Why do you think there's so much amateur porn? Because some people are exhibitionists. And guess what? Exhibitions like showing off their body. No matter what their body looks like, if they're an exhibitionist, chances are they're not going to be exploiting themselves by showing off their body, because they want to.

However, I do understand that a lot of people, namely women, are forced into porn - usually amateur. And it is unfortunate, and it it something that needs to be understood when consuming porn.
