Which one controls us?
I think a little bit of both. You make a lot of desicions, but sometimes, fate can take over. |

Well, I think it's a little bit of both. We are set out for a fate in (okay, I'm gonna get a little religious on you) God's plan, but we are given the choice to choose our own path as well and make our own alterations to our lives. |

That's what I believe.
Fate means that no matter what I do, I will end up where fate wants me to. And that's just a pile of turds. I have free will. |

Age: 36 Gender: Female Posts: 1155 | June 12th, 2006 at 04:12am Fate? That's just stupid. We create our own path in life, we are in control of our own destinies. It really drives me mad when I hear people blaming fate for the unpleasant events in their lives. |

Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 6686 | June 12th, 2006 at 02:03pm I believe whole-heartedly in free will. The descisions you make today shape who you will be tomorrow.
Fate does nothing for you in the real world. It's just a way to try to get yourself out of trouble, and it never works.
People only came up with the concept of fate during the middle ages because they didn't understand science. Now that we do, I feel fate has no place in our world. It's merely a word now and it has no relevance to people. |

Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 6503 | June 12th, 2006 at 05:01pm I believe in fate because I like to think that all things happen for a reason. I moved to Minnesota so I could find the best friends I ever could imagine and I could find myself and become happy with who I am.
In a similar way, I believe my mom is disabled for a reason so I could grow to be a mature young-adult and learn to take care of people and be caring, nurtuing, and responsible at a young age. I don't know where exactly it will play into my life yet, I believe it will.

I believe that you work towards your fate.
Obviously you control the decions you make in your life but either way, you are on the Earth for a purpose. And sooner or later fate will bring you to do whatever it is your purpose as a human is.
But hey, that could just be me. |

Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 2793 | June 13th, 2006 at 09:17pm I'm a strong believer in fate controlling the important aspects of our lives, like when we die and who we meet. I believe there is some higher power out there, not necessarily God or someone who should be worshipped or a being at all. I don't know what my religion is. I follow my own. |

Free will controls me, not fate. Some people say such things like,
"Fate decides,"
"Because fate wants us to,"
so that they would have something to blame other than themselves. For me, it's pathetic. |
