Age: 33 Gender: Male Posts: 618 | February 4th, 2007 at 08:42pm They can't be classified into one genre.
They are post-hardcore, emo (to their dismay =P), alternative, punk rock, punk pop, and other things. |

Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 22515 | February 16th, 2007 at 06:57am Well, I'm not sure what genre MCR belongs to right now.
They've changed to the better during this years.
But you sure can't fucking call them EMO.
Because that's fucking wrong.
EMO is self harm, self pitty and suicidal things.
MCR is against that, and can't be called that, either.
But now that I've thought a bit about it, I think that MCR belongs to punk, rock, and a hinch, tiny, itsy bitsy piece, of pop.

Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 1543 | February 16th, 2007 at 10:37am Emo= emotive hardcore, which is just punk rock that talks about feelings. Emo doesn't = boys in eyeliner and girls' pants. That's what everyone thinks when they think of emo and that's why no bands want to be called it. |

Age: 30 Gender: Female Posts: 730 | February 16th, 2007 at 12:28pm i think that MCR would probably now be alternative rock. but back in the I Brought You My Bullets You Brought Me Your Love and Three Cheers days they would probably be considered Punk Rock.... |

Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 1543 | February 16th, 2007 at 08:03pm If they call themselves "violent pop" then, I guess that's what they are. Not wanting them to be pop just because you don't like the idea of liking pop(cuz you're such a pUnK rAwK ReBeL!!!!), reeks of poserness. |

Age: 30 Gender: Female Posts: 12928 | February 16th, 2007 at 09:15pm i have already said that they should have their own genre , but the most general genre that they are considered is Alternative. |
