Everyone says they are a mix of punk, pop, post-hardcore, metal, goth-rock etc. Instead of naming all of these genres and trying to figure out which ones they fall under exactly (there are so many), I think there should be a new genre made up to put them in and name it after them. I think they deserve to have that since they have created a completely new sound...why not name it after them? Like "Chemical Rock" or something?

They are My Chemical Romance, nothing else. At the concert in Topeka, KS on March 2nd, Gerard said this: "we're not emo, and we're not a fuckin death cult. a show is where you need to be. a show is your home, and we're your family. we won't judge you." ^They're not emo.
