if i remember correctly, you just have to copy and paste the texture on the icon and then change the blending mode that best suits the icon. I'm not sure about the text thing though. |

Yet I see all these amazing icons of celebs/musicians with backgrounds that are obviously not the same picture, you know what I mean? |

like i downloaded them from limewire and got them onto itunes, but itunes said it couldnt be put onto my ipod coz the file wasnt supported. what kind of file do i need?
and... does anyone know anywhere else i can download videos? like possibly ones from youtube?

That's one of the most important things.
And you'll use the lasso tool, right? Try using the polygon tool and clicking on many points around your subject.

thanks. You need an mp4 file. (mpeg-4 file, whatever)
Mediaconverter is so much better than zamzar for converting files (including youtube videos) :]

I know with Photofiltre, if you want to texture only a bit of an image, you select that part and then select a texture.
Mayeb you can follow the same principe with whatever program you use?

I'm a bit late but here goes.
Okay for the lj header it really depends on the code your using.
Most of the time, they'll tell you whether or not it can use a header but if it doesn't, and it originally doesn't have a header chances are you can't.
Seach the code for some text that looks like this (it probably will not look EXACTLY THE SAME):

}
.headerimage {
/* this time the header graphic is placed at the 'title' */
background-image: url(INSERT URL HERE);
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-attachment: scroll;
background-position: center;
background-color: #FFFFFF;
height: 200px;
width: 800px;
margin: 0px auto;
text-align: center;
border-width: 5px 4px 2px 4px;
border-style: solid;
border-color: #FFFFFF;
}
That's the part of the code you need to edit to install a header. Upload the header you want to use (I personally reccomend NOTHING UNDER 600PX. I normally use an image with around 800px. It just makes it look nicer rather than cramped, but then again it really depends on your layout as their body widths all vary and you don't want to have a 800px banner, then a body of text underneath that's only 600px) then insert the url of that image where it says:
background-image: url(INSERT URL HERE);
Pretty simple.
Then all you need to do it edit the width and height. All they are are the dimensions of your banner.
And your done.
I hope that makes sense.
