I think it's totally awesome.
I can see Gerard laughing when he read that Smile
I'd laugh if they said that about my band.
But you know,
That only means they're getting more popular Wink
And they deserve the recognition Cool

Sounds like an interesting book, regardless of the MCR description.

A lot of bands are mentioned in the book: Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Motely Crue, Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails, etc. So for MCR to be included among these greats, that is quite an honor. They got a longer paragraph than most everyone. I think considering the character, now that I'm reading more, it's definitely a compliment. But I DO wonder if Gerard knew that they were mentioned before he bought the book.

The spiked hair reference has to be Frank, he's pretty prominent in the Conan clip from Revenge Era. He had the black on red mohawk and it was pretty spikey in the front, done up Misfits-style.

Ah this book is so awesome.
When Gerard said he was reading it I shrieked...
Yes, I shriek...because I'm reading it, too.

I think I had a heart attack when I saw that interview and Gerard said he was reading Heart Shaped Box. I had just gotten it the day before. A friend told me to check it out because she said I'd find something interesting in there.

It really is a good book though. Very well written and the story line keeps you interested the whole time. Gerard has good taste in books.

Ok, I just finished the book and DAMN. What a read. This book does not let up, it never slows down or gets boring. You never get to a "stopping point" where you can throw a bookmark in and leave for a while. You just keep reading. The last ten chapters were heart-pounding and really freaky. At one point I was shouting "NO! Don't die!" But I won't reveal the ending, you'll have to read for yourself. I highly recommend it. Thanks, Gerard!

I read it in 6 hours today.

Went to Borders, bought it, read it on the car ride home, and didn't put it down until I finished it.

Fucking amazing book.

I was reading that before the interview, so I squealed when he said he was reading it. Amazing book really, and I laughed so hard in class when I read that paragraph.

I bought it for my mom for Mother's Day. She's a Stephen King fan, so I think she'd like it. Plus, she loves MCR.
