I bought it yesterday, because I'm a huge fan of Stephen King, and couldn't put it down, nor could I sleep. It left my skin crawling with fear. I would suggest it to any horror fans.

No, I agree with Ghost. I bought it with the idea that I love Stephen King's works. I wasn't in love with his son's writing until AFTER I read the book. |

Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 2182 | June 18th, 2007 at 12:25pm I just finished the book, I couldnt put it down! I read it in two days and loved every page of it.... the description he gave of MCR I think just played into the what was happening in the book at the time.... I dont think it was meant to be mean
Plus this book left me very paranoid at night... which I found awesome
But I would definitely recommend this book to everyone! (Except little children ) |

I have it, and it's split into three shorter 'books' and so far I've only read the first. It's weird to read as its written in accents, like how it is pronounced. But fun. Creppy as fuck, but good.
It's 'Ecstasy: Three tales of chemical romance' if you're interested.
And heart shaped box is one of the best books I have ever read.
I love that he didn't use his Dad's name for recognition, even though pretty much everyone knows anyway. |

He wondered which of them would die first
That line makes me laugh every time I read it.

Age: 30 Gender: Female Posts: 1445 | June 20th, 2007 at 02:16am I bought the book yesterday and i'm already about half way through it. This book is brilliant and the cover is so cool! I think the description is really funny, satirical almost. Can't wait for more stuff from Joe Hill! My sig was taken from the line when Jude is reminicing on how he writes his songs and that they sound like folksy songs and then 'Dresses them in black and teaches them to scream.' |

Age: 30 Gender: Female Posts: 2404 | June 20th, 2007 at 02:52am I'm letting my mom read the book now. I showed her the part where Joe Hill mentions MCR, and she looked confused at first, but then started laughing. I did too! It's funny how badly described they were, but I still found it awesome that they were even mentioned in the first place. |

Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 1669 | August 11th, 2007 at 11:47am MCR are also mentioned in a Stephen King book. It's called Lisey's Story. I think that's how it's spelt. But yeah, seems like they are fans, or not depending on how you want to take it, lol. |
Seductive Screamer Killjoy
Age: - Gender: Female Posts: 49 | August 15th, 2007 at 05:29am I remembered picking it up at the library just because of the title.
I saw 'Heart-Shaped Box' and instantly went, "Nirvana!"
I read it in less then 12 hours and got a bit paranoid that night.
For some weird reason I kept on picturing Craddock as Iron Maiden's Eddie.
I remember when I got to the part with My Chem in it. Made me 10 times happier that I read the book. What can I say, I'm very easy to please.
It's a very good book over all. MCR or no MCR. |
