My old screamer kept blowing his voice out after like, 2 hours of practise.
He was screaming too much from his throat.

DIAPHRAGM PEOPLE
I scream for my band, I think we're doing a UK tour in May so everyone should come.

Um but basically it has to come from both the diaphragm and the throat.
Skreets are real hard to get the hang of too.

My brother has ADD, and he makes a lot of weird noises, but there's this one thing he does and I've mimicked it and it really prepares your voice for screaming.

Form your mouth into an O shape, and inhail from your gut (meaning, when you breathe in your stomach should expand, and your shoulders SHOULDN'T go up) and start to growl, increasing your volume as you inhail. Increase volume each time you practice, and you should be able to scream while exhaling fairly well. It's not damaging to the farthest extent of my knowledge...if it is, just let me know.

However, don't be like my brother and do this in the middle of the night. It can be scary.

I'd really like to be able to scream, and I guess the only way tto do that is practise until I get it right.

I can scream, but it's a extremely deep growl (odd for a girl, right?)
So, how can i raise it about...2 octaves?

I've been working at it. I've actually kind of got it; screaming from your middle/lower stomach (would that be your diaphram?) is easiest. I found that it doesn't hurt your throat as easily either. Nice Dance

this is really random
but if you want to get out of an english oral or something
do a lot of screaming
then you lose your voice
you can get out of any kind of public speaking thing for school
cool eh?

My older friend is in a band and has a low voice. He screams SO good, but I can't do it! I don't want to practice this month cause of an audition to a IMPORTANT part, but, how long is the best to practice.....so I don't kill my voice

Just remember all of you.

If it hurts when you're trying out a new technique on screaming and singing. You're doing it wrong. The techniques are made to work imidiately, if it doesn't you're doing it wrong...

My screams are (apparently) closest to Chester Bennington's. And I couldn't tell you how I do it, I just.. can.

Does anyone have any tips on screaming from your diaphragm?? How do I know if i'm screaming from my diaphragm, as opposed to my throat?

Well, this explaination probably won't be too helpful, but I'll try xD Just mess around with the way you scream. By that I mean, try to push the scream from (about) your stomach area. It's a little hard to get it at first, but once you do it's very easy to recreate it.

Although, I'm not quite sure how to tell ya how you know when you're screaming from your throat as opposed to your diaphragm. For me it was that the screams from my diaphragm was deeper than my throat.
