river phoenix.: This is the first Christmas in ages that I've been away from home. I'm going to Florida and Charlston to visit American family.
Pshh. Honestly, I kind of like being at home for Christmas. I can't even spell Charlston. It's the place in North Carolina.
Or maybe South.
I forget.
Charles-town, South Carolina. Charleston.
I like to go home for Christmas because I get a good haul. ^^ Really though, I've never been away from my family at Christmas. It sucks you'll be in the South because there's like no snow here. Ever. xDD |

The time off from school, being with friends, and fam. Tis good.
Though, one of my friends say I've never really had a "true" Christmas. Ehh, whatever.

Christmas is whatever the bejeeper you want it to be, and for me, it's all about sparkly tinsel, tacky decorations, spraying Goth Rosary's 'Season's Greedings' all over the house, eating too much food, wrapping (and then unwrapping!!!) presents, and spending time with your family. |

Age: - Gender: - Posts: 23462 | November 30th, 2008 at 01:55am Well, "Kota said that a true Christmas's having a big-ass tree covered on verities of ornaments, and tinsel with an angel on top, being told Christmas stories while drinking coco (she doesn't count movies), cuddling with a significant other/a little relatives or pet, making cookies for Santa, and shizz. Like the stuff you'd see in the movies.
I agree with you 120% on what Christmas is. It's the same way for me, only our tree is small and silver. Really silver, It don't need more tinsel. xD |

I know that I'm getting an electric guitar this year, but I'm not really sure what else I want...Maybe some art stuff We used to have a real tree, but there isn't enough room so we're settling for a fake one this year
The only thing I really hate about Christmas is that my mom is ill on Christmas day, pretty much every year. It makes me feel kinda bad, since her birthday is on Christmas eve too. Oh, and I don't like buying presents for people. There's just too much pressure on you to buy what the person actually likes; my friends usually end up with chocolate. Mainly because chocolate is cheap, and you can never have enough chocolate |

except this year it'll be weird, since all of my family is going to be in LA, and we're not.
we were going to go, my grandparents were paying for travel, I think, otherwise we couldn't have, but my dad couldn't have gone, so we're stuck here.
and there are a lot of traditions that involve family, and now we don't get that.
tbh, it really pisses me off that we're all staying here because of my dad.
sry, but we see him all the time, and we nearly never see a lot of these relatives.
and my grandparents want a christmas list, and I've kept thinking of CDs I want, and naturally now I forget them all. |

It's the same set up this year as it has been for the last 2 years. Grandad comes over for two days and we just sit at home, eat and watch movies, wonderful . |

usually, me & my sisters wake up at 4 in the morning
open our presents at 5 in the morning
& then maybe go back to bed.
then we go on a journey to all our relatives' houses
& then back home for dinner
& then just relax for the rest of the day week.
but this year,
we've invited all the family round for dinner.
it's gonna be complete chaos
but it'll be brilliant.
can't wait.

It's my favorite holiday.
I'm not sure what I'll get. I don't even want so much.
I just like giving gifts. Searching the perfect gift for every person and making them happy.
Christmas will be at home, like aways. But I wouldn't trade it for the world. |

Age: 37 Gender: Female Posts: 1725 | December 4th, 2008 at 03:18am I'm putting up the Christmas tree right now (taking a quick break because fanning out the tips is taking forever).
I just went and bought it today, and some new decorations - blue, purple and silver again this year, same as the year before last (my first Christmas not living with my parents, then last year we had moved in with them for a few months waiting for our new place to be ready so we had Christmas there).
I'll post pictures when I'm done |

We don't really do the 'seeing family' bit on Christmas day. The routine usually is, we stay at home for presents, dinner and speech from Queenie as well as Christmas hits on Magic. I then go to my boyfriends house and stay there for the night.
In the morning, we get picked up and all of us go see my dad's side of the family. With my mum's the next week.

But we're staying at home this year, thank god.
And I think only one set of my grandparents are coming. So there won't be too many of us.
Last year I refused to go to my auntie and uncle's house. I don't like them, or my cousins.
So I stayed with my grandparents. I love them to bits, so it was okay. |
