Ok, I'm putting my foot in my mouth a little, for instance, very few people in my english class knew the difference between an adverb and an adjective. Or about sentence diagrams. The public school systems teach less detail, I suppose, but that doesn't necessarily make them 'dumber'.

^I guess that's just from your personal experience, but I can tell you that people also vary like that in school systems as well. You're always going to have people in the classroom who are slow to grasp concepts etc.
But I don't think homeschooling gives you an advantage, in my opinion.

^ it may in a sense, cos you might put more hours into your work, and cover more than a syllabus usually would.
but it could also set you back, cos you might be easily distracted by things at home or just not bothered to do the work cos your not going to get into trouble off the teacher.
i guess it has its goods and bads really...

Well i am homeschooled and well i completely hate it!

To be honest with the you can get on with your work better as your on your own thing is wrong... i concerate the same as at school or home... (i used to go to school until about a year and a half ago)... also when i do my work im usually alone, so if im stuck have no one to ask! unlike at school where you can a teacher to ask also friends...

Also many people cant afford a tutor (like me) so your stuck doing it on your own... my parents work until the evening so i cant get help til then by which time im to knackered to do work!

Also its hard to get into a routine unlike school... i also find im getting up later and later as i have nothing to do!

I think its good if you have a parent there to help you during the day and your given other things to do like go out places and see friends...

With me i have basically no close friends anymore (i did have loads at school) as we have grown apart and i never see them anymore! and im in the house 24/7 which is bad as with that easily comes depression! which to be honest i have been feeling... not fun at all.... But i cant tell my parents that as they cant do anything about it and i would feel guilty, also well a lot as happened to my brother and i dont want to add to that!

But anyway the good things are that i dont have to do GCSES... i do ICCES, which are the same but i dont do the tests! im on a course which when your done u get ICCES..,. to be honest i hate the pressure of GCSES! and i would probably fail as i'd be to nervous!

The bad thing to that is its gunna take me another year or two to do them as i started late!! which im finding really hard, cause i feel i cant keep living like this for another two years!!! im gunna go out of my mind! but i cant do anything about it, as i cant go to school again as well lets just say it ended badly... and i would have to probably go back a year to catch up! also having to do GCSES which i think i could not do!

I hated school, i wasnt happy at school, but im also unhappy now
so i dont know what to do to make me happier, im finding it so hard but theres nothing i can do.

so there u go... if u do want to be homeschooled make sure you have these things - you keep in touch with friends and see them - a parent or someone to help you - more fun actives to do like go out somewhere

another thing, you'll have someone coming over like every few months to check your doing the work! so you can to make sure you do it otherwise you can get into big trouble

Hope this helped and i didnt bore you lool

i think that home schooling is good because theres only one pupil.
that way the teacher isnt destracted by a lot of kids.
so they can put all their teaching efforts into one child...

the down side is that the child doesnt have a chance to socialise....
and this could be harmful to their life...

they say that school isnt a place to socialise..
when in fact its the biggest socialising ground in a childs life..
and thats what makes going to an actual school important.

I'm homeschooled actually. I transferred there from a public school just this year, and by THERE I mean a center for homeschoolers.. I'm in an Asian country, where we have to get our books from the US, so it's better and more convenient to do it in a center, just like normal schools, but smaller. So we DO actually socialize, in our own way. But I don't really like the people there... (just an opinion), they're really friendly at first, like REALLY friendly, and then after that they just completely snub you... Maybe they just have different social skills than to those I'm used to..
