I think its also a shame because you can only learn as much as your parents can teach you, no more than what they know.
Now, that's not so true. Students can Distance Learn, which is like...a computer based system with online lectures. You also have an instructor that you communicate with via phone and email. So, home schooled kids are no longer limited to their parents.

Home schooling is good if you are getting bullied, but it stops your chance of meeting new people, though you could join clubs for that

i honestly think its ok but i dont think they get the same as good as education as kids who go to school, espescially when some states dont have to have home schooled kids take the pssa's and other state tests

Yara; wtf...:
What's good about it?

I suppose on your own you're likely to be able to learn more and do more work...

Yara; wtf...:
What's bad about it?

...but what's the point of being intelligent if you don't have any friends? In my opinion, friends are one of the few things that matter in life.

im homeschool.
Good:you can think alot easier, not as much pressure on work and everyone and everything around you,no bed time,as much time as you need for your work, your parent can focus on you unlike in a classroom where there are other kids.etc...

Bad:you miss your friends, your stuck in the house alot of the time, everything gets boring, you get sick of seeing your family to the point of screaming.

Actually...I am currently taking homeschooling. ^^ Matter of fact, if the person is very good at speaking with people, there are no problems when they go back to school. *confused* Secondly, taking homeschooling is very good, most of the homeschooled kids learn more than in the schools. My mom made me take a test and I didn't know ANYTHING! I took it again after a while of homeschooling and went GREAT!

Okay, I have had my share of homeschooling because I had surgery last year and I was taken completely out of school for the second semester.

I hated it. I never got to see my friends and it was a nightmare. My homeschooling was actually done over the Internet, and I got through with all my work for the entire semester in like a week. So from then on they just kept giving me work...and if I took a few days off they would be calling to see why I'm not doing my schoolwork.

Also, my pastor (who is a complete idiot, sry, i know that sounds bad, but he is), has been homeschooled his whole life and he doesn't know anything about the real world.

I'm sorry, but that's my opinion.

Good:
You get to stay home and eat real food.
...
Yeah, I can't think of very much more good about it, lol.

my neighbors r homeschooled (theres five kids, only 4 r homeshooledi think) they r reely religious and they're parents keep them away from many things thats going on in society. the only kind of music they listen to are hymns (they dont know wut my chemical romance is) the oldest is almost 13 now and the only kind of movies they watch r PG. i dont agree w/ it b'cuz the oldest is looking forward to starting the same high skool im starting next year cuz he wants to play for the football team and he's going to be teased cuz he doesnt reely know ne thing about being a teenager in the year 2007

Good: You don't have to deal with the pressures public/private school provides, like bullying.

Bad: Not much socializing.

correct.

i am in homeschooling.
i would say that it does indeed suck.

it really would depend on the person.
someone could love it.
for if that person was shy.

or

someone could hate it.
people wouldnt know you. people would ask you alot if it is any good or not.

i hate it.
too many people ask me if it is any fun.
kids and parents alike.
its very annoying.

Well I was homeschooled for my whole life except this year. It does have it advantages, and its disadvantages. I was socialised well, as I played sport, and had friends in the neighbourhood, and I move around alot so I have friends all over the place. I didnt like it as much, because I am very social, and I needed somewhere where I wasnt with my family the whole time. Saying that, I love normal school, and I dont think homeschooling was good for me Smile

But I must add, I hated homeschooling. It did get boring. You did nothing all day but sit in ya backside. And I espescially hated it when we would go out during the day and getting asked "Day of school/" and I would say, 'No, I homeschool." So embaressing. I just wanted to be a normal kid.

Heya Strangers,
I'd hate to be home-schooled. Even though public school is living hell, at lease you have friends to see you through it. If i'd neva gone to school, I would have neva met ma rockin friends. So i'd hate to be home-schooled because its anti-social because its just you and you lol learning alone! Or with some stupid posh, stuck-up teacher! peace out people xx-xx

i go to a local school cuz my mom dropped out in grade 7, but i think that home schooling isnt that bad at all.

besides less socializing (thats not even what you're in school for) you dont get bullied as much on school grounds because there isnt any.

and home schooling could teach you a thing or two teachers cant.
