i think he is singing about a girl and a guy. he is wondering when she dies did she really get what she deserved, and if she goes to heaven he will be waiting for her, and if her life cant wait then her heart can take the pressure. then she dies and he is wondering if she has realised that shes dead, and how it doesnt matter anyway because "no one ever had much nice to say, i think they never liked you anyway", and how he wishes that she would take him with her and that her plan would work out because it would be grand if they were both dead, then he realises that she never really loved him anyway, and how he wished he could take a pistol and kill himself, and during her operation found a complication in her heart so she doesnt need to commit suicide because she will be dead in about 2weeks anyway. and he is wondering if life is realy worth it and not a joke why is he considering suicide (then why are we laughing). then he is questioning why he is dead

I think it's talking about someone who was never really in love, and how you haven't lived until you've loved someone enough to have your heart broken.

I think it's about a person who is suicidal because it say "wouldn't it be grand to take a pistol by the hand" so maybe it's written like the song Inside the Fire by Disturbed because someone in the band has dealt with a person they know killing themselves.

i think it means someone is happy someone is dying and is waiting for them in heaven to send them to hell

well... I believe that it is about a person that doesn't care about life and says oh... i hope i die. they are saying there are things in life that will make you happy and things make you sad... why not experience them and them make your final choice ( :

I loooooooove this song seriously i listen to it everyday just to block out everyone and everything. Its really peacefull... But it sounds like gee got a loooooooot of revenge lol

This song's about the patient's loved one, and how she's dying. He knows that she's gonna die, so he kills himself to be with her.

DEAD! is in essence an ironic flashback. The whole story is of a dead man, and this song is either his self-deprecation in life (the way he feels about himself) or it's what he's been told his whole life --"I think they never liked you anyway"--. I feel that in his adult life he had few friends and was not well-liked, thus the dying vision of a childhood memory (but that's another part of the story [see Wlcome to the Black Parade]).

(and if your heart stops beating, i'll be here wondering did you get what you deserve), its someone like a loved one saying "when you die, i'll be wondering if you went to heavan or hell, did you deserve to go to hell or did you deserve to go to heaven?

I kind of thought it was like a part 2 for the end and this is how i disappear was like part 3 im not sure about the sharpest lives though

I think it's about wishing death on someone and at the same time having a great rock song.

I think this is about two aqantices ( sorry is I spelled that wrong) who hate each other. One dies and the other is happy that he won't have to see his face for as long as he lives and is rubbing it in his face that he isn't living any more

"Dead!" is the song that really begins this epic tragedy that surrounds "The Patient". In the song, the Patient receives the tragic news that they've "found a complication in your heart", and he's "got maybe just two weeks to live." The lines "no one ever had much nice to say, I think I never liked you anyway" suggest that the Patient is not a very loved person, and has few friends and family. The line "And if you get to heaven, I'll be there waiting" suggests that there's someone "up there" who hated him in life, sort of a narrator from above. By the end of the song "The Patient" sees life in a totally new light, ending with "If life ain't just a joke then why are we laughing?"

I agree...but I also think that it may have something about revenge...or maybe even stating that The Patient could accept dyeing a lot eaiser because, like you said, he may be a hated person
