Gerard had the ideas for how the characers looked but he didn't draw them for the comic. |

Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 47 | September 11th, 2007 at 12:50am Dark Horse Comics. Portland. FTW! living in this city for my entire life and i didn't know they were the third largest comics publisher in the US! i think it's very fitting that Gerard chose a publisher that's got an edge and is based in a city that has an edge and a half.
very excited to see the final result of the comic after seeing a little preview of it. sugarshock on the dark horse myspace has such an awesome style. check it out if you can't wait for TUA. srsly. |

Too bad I can't go. Living on the west coast sucks sometimes |

That was a great interview with Ba! I really liked how he handled the questions about Gerard--he does not overly praise him. I'm kind of sick of MCR fans thinking Gerard can do everything and did everything with TUA. With Ba, James Jean or Dave Stewart, who are all acclaimed and talented artists, TUA would just be a story on paper. The only people who would lap it up would be impressionable MCR fans. But the team has both credibility and talent and seems like it can be taken seriously in the comic book world.
Truthfully, I want to read TUA b/c Gerard wrote it, and I like his work. However, I didn't think it would be super amazing or have the feeling it would be, but I hoped it would be. But the by the way everyone else (as in non-MCR fans) have been going on about it, it sounds really great.
And Ba addressed the stubborn manga fans! That made me giggle. So true...some kids only think Mangas are the only good kind of graphics novels.
Can't wait! |

yes, Gerard is the master of the wicket script. Gabriel Ba & twin Fabio Moon & other artists I believe [of whom I don't have names for offhand...] are the illustrators for TUA. check out more info on Gabriel and the making of TUA on Gabriel's myspace |
