this song is about loosing someone really close or important to you. that's why the title is "THE GHOST OF YOU". He tries to foget the incident that the person that he lose was dead. well that's my theory.... wehehehe.. LOL! ^_^
I've acutally stumbled upon a strange bit of info. I had to check the topic to make sure no one has posted it yet. But apprently if you play the ghost of you reverse Gerard is saying/singing another song. Its a bit hard to understand, but just listening to the song backwards makes you feel horribly sad for no reason, but the lyrics are sad as well. They're upsetting because you can hear most of the sad parts, some of it is hard to understand but if you listen to it a few times you hear it a bit more.

A lot of other MyChem songs if played backwards are different songs. Its weird put it seems like Gerard purposely did it.
i let my friends listen to this song, and they like it... but when i tried to let them listen to other songs, they don't like it anymore. they said "WE LIKE THE SONG 'THE GHOST OF YOU' MUCH MORE THAN THE OTHER SONGS.... WE DON'T LIKE THE OTHER SONGS...... WOW! I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY CAN MAKE SONGS LIKE THAT.."

i think it's about someone you love dying and the things you never did experience with that person.
seriously, it makes me cry sometimes when i listen to it. i feel so connected to the song and everything it says is about my situation (but the person i'm talking about isn't dead, or maybe, i don't really know)

The songs about losing someone thats close to you. That's why mikey died in the film clip, because Gerard lost a person that was close to him, and that was his brother.

Its about the fear of losing someone close to you and when Mikey gets shot Gerard loses that person....
I love the song and the whole depression about it....the vid clip is awesome...
btw..on the making of ghost of you when the boat starts sinking and the camera is on Mikey Gerard Frankie and Marc.. and theyre talking about it and mikeys like "im not sure whether this is pee or water" .does anyone realise the weird as laugh that frankie does?? its so cute...

I agree, this was the first MCR song I ever heard and the music video made me cry. It made me think about the war and how pointless it is. Dude, real men cry over the ones who are gone. Bastards are the ones who dont care.
