Branding is an interesting idea but what if the paedophile is a sado machist (sorry have no idea how to spell that) then they would enjoy it and it wouldnt deterr them, so i think you may not have 100% success on that.
i think the deterrant idea is a good idea, making the brain associate the urges with something yuccky, but the problem being is we have to catch these people first. There in lies some of the problem. some don't get caught which is horrible, but i think the deterrant idea could really work |

Generally I am against the death penalty but this case is the closest I get to supporting it because when a person does that to an innocent child, you are basically fucking that child for life and their ability to lead a normal life will be slim if non exisitant. |

The janitor at my school was in jail for paedophilia. But was released because they didn't have enough evidence.
One girl in my grade, when she was younger, he was her bus driver and when she was the only one on the bus he would go back to "tickle" her.
All the teachers are disgusted with him, and are trying to get him fired.
A few years ago he grabbed a grade seven's breast and he still wasn't fired.
And he always has a weird look on his face. He creeps everybody out. |

it was more of a question for everybody generally just the idea that theyve done something so bad to warrant extreme measures against them in effect makes you almost as bad for what you do to them altho it is perfectly justified |

Pedofiles have some wrong with there mind. They should know that its wrong. But most think its ok. and everyone else knows its not. No child should be put through that but how can we stop it. If they're mentally sick then they have no control over their actions, so to be honest it isn't their fault. If they weren't sick they'd know better.
And if they don't know it's wrong, then they should be sent to a prison that actually shows the prisoners better lives on the law-abiding side of life, not just put in there treated like mud and ignored. |

Where I live there is a lady who lives in my area that will go on a certain site, where conficted pedos have to register, she then prints out their info, and pic and posts it in her corner store. To make the residents aware of who they are.
I don't think pedos serve enough time. In my eyes I think that they are the first ones out on good behavior. Which is not right. yes, they have to take courses, talk to therapists, but still. They should do the time for touching such young children/teens. |

If you were going to send your child to a school and a sex offender lived next door, you obviously wouldn't send your kid there.

that's really shocking! it made me cry a little. how can parents do that to their own child? how dare they? i can't believe that they have the sense to do such a thing.
I was watching Dr. Phil this afternoon and I couldn't believe the numbers of child sexual offenders! It's very creepy.

i saw on Law and Order- and while I know it's just a TV show, i think this part is true-that people who have pedophilic urges can get this therapy when they masturbate to images of children [it was unclear if this was porn or not, i'd assume not] to thirty minutes beyond the point of orgasm...that way they associate it with horrible pain in "that area" instead of... good feelings.
