Happy Birthday Misread.
Paedophiles cannot be dealt with just by killing them or shipping them away. It is not the answer. As much as we would like to indulge in fantasies of great amounts of pain to the people who hurt children, that is not the way of our society. Jailtime is the only real thing that can be done as of yet.
Personally, I think that there should be a petition created the is in favor of castration as a punisment for paedophiles, as well as branding/tattoo that marks them as such. It would be far easier to keep rack of them and to recognize them if they did this.
Not to mention that their sexual urges would be reduced greatly, if not destroyed alltogether. |

There is a therapy in Britain being trialed where when the urges show up the person plays a video of disgusting pictures of diseases, takes a tablet that tastes horrible and opens a bottle of liquid that smeells like rotting flesh.
This eventualy makes the brain associate the urges with bad things, thus crushing the urges... so far its working great
I myself do it, it works... but is very disturbing -shudders at though of video- |

Um, are you sure this treatment is legal? It doesn't sound very ethical. It's a bit A Clockwork Orange.
Also, does anyone else ever think that maybe in a hundred years paedophilia will be perfectly acceptable? I mean, it wasn't that long ago that they locked people up for homosexual acts. Maybe our attitudes towards paedophilia will change and it will become socially acceptable and legal. Good or bad? |

Unconsenting, innocent, uneducated to the matters the adult is trying to adress, and utterly helpless. Just the same way rape and murder will never be legal, paedophillia where the person acts upon their urges with a child, will never be condoned or welcome. |

My sister was molested when she was 5. My mother had to go to work to support her and her child, so reluctantly she left her in the care of her best friend. She trusted this friend with her life. This friend allowed her 21 year old son molest my sister. You think that was my mothers fault? that she didn't pay enough attention to my sister, and indirectly allowed this peadophila ruin her child hood? BS. Most parents do EVERYTHING in their power to keep their children safe- but the only way you could ever keep your child safe is to lock them in their house and never allow them to even look outside. This isn't about parents, this is about sick peadophilas who kidnapp children and steal their childhood. It's THEIR fault entirely. |

Anyways, castration would be a good lesson.
But that could just traumatize them and then they'll be even worse, but I highly doubt that. |

One; people are going to argue for fair treatment, and that the punishments are worse than the crimes, that the people have a right to keeping their bodies, etc.
Two; castration, chemical or literal, may not stop the person. For instance, female paedophiles. Plus there is also the possibility of molesting or raping the child with a foreign object.
I think that a brand would be more effective, put in place after the first offence, plus a goodly amount of jailtime. Second offence, lose a hand and maybe genetalia. Third, either paraplegia or death sentence.
But that is just my thoughts. I think that people would be more likely to restrain themselves if the chance of losing something of yours is high. |
