I don't think there's anything really wrong with FF, seriously, don't like? Don't read. It's as simple as that. I have to admit that Waycest freaks me out and that I find it disgusting. Other then that, I don't see a problem.
About the band finding out? They obviously already know. And to be honest, it's just one of the things you'll have to learn to deal with when you get famous.

True. Sure some of the stuff can cross the line, but hey, it's fiction.
I just read it because i'm really bored.
Some fans just find it fun to write it.
MCR have become famous, so it's obvious that they would have tons of fan fics. It's just normal. They probably just laugh when they read such things. I know I would.

The band knows and they think it's funny. They just try and avoid reading it themselves. Go watch the vid I posted on Page 1 about this.

yeah but there's no harm to it. Its fiction. I was never interested in reading them either, but I do read them at times. Alot of these stories are written very well. Alot of these stories focus on life situations and relationships problems and such. Not all of them focus on slash or other x-rated things. Its just a way for the people who write them be able to expand their creativity as writers.There are a lot of good and talented writers out there. It doesn't harm the band in any way.

i think it depends on what the fanfic is about. Some people just write too much nonsense and some really go overboard with their imaginations to the point where they are inappropriate. they may get too sexual or just plain wrong.
other than that, most stories i think are very fun to read. they show what people think and know about MCR and they let their imaginations run wild.

^^Yes but some people would enjoy reading 'pornfics' about their fave band. It depends on taste. It's fiction so I don't see anything wrong with it.

I wouldn't be grossed out at all. Plus doing frerard on stage kind of provokes the fanfics. lol

But I wouldn't mind at all because to me it's just fans getting creative. If someone's creative, then they should be encouraged to embrace that creativity in my opinion.

I have read one Frerard story, but I really did not like it that much.
maybe because I'm more on Frerard on stage xD

Anyway, I don't like waycest either, it's just weird and it's so not right.

The only fanfiction I read and write are Gerard/OFC ones. I'd rather have an OFC for a main character since I'm not really that comfortable of using a lot of real people as characters for my stories. (and I'm not also comfortable reading a story full of real people).
and one more thing I find good with OFC characters is that you can't say it's based from a specific 'someone'... so the readers can picture the character as they want it to be.

That's what it should be. A fanfiction should at least widen and entertain one's imagination.

I think I wouldn't like it if I were them. I wouldn't if that were about me. In my opinion, writing fan fiction is okay about fictional characters. Sure I can't say it's wrong about real human beings.. I think it's not okay. But feel free.

In my mind, writing sex scenes between two brothers or two close friends is just over the top.
I personally don't like it, Frerard is kinda like a kiss or two onstage, this goes far beyond that.
This is people writing relationships, sometimes rape and sometimes elaborate sex scenes.
I kind of consider it as porn.....
But thats my opinion. I avoid it, so it isn't really a problem for me.

I think it's fine. It's only fiction, and MCR aren't going to read it anyway, since they know about it.

However, some of the stuff can borderline pornography. But also keep in mind that Mibba has ratings, so if you're offended by it, the NC-17 rating is a good warning sign.

I was thinking about this, this morning and how unnerved I would be to see myself in a story with no control over what I was doing. I think FF is a good way to practice your creativity, but it's a bit weird when it's about real people, I think character's would be easier to think about rather than people who actually exist.

I'm not against MCR FF at all, but I feel a bit sorry for the guys hearing about their sexual exploits in stories. And I seriously feel that Waycest is just wrong!! *shudder*
