WildEyedxJoker Killjoy ![]() Age: - Gender: Female Posts: 63 | Addabitty: Wooow, that's REALLY true... i just listened to the stripped version of this song; no wonder it sounded really familiar O_O Also, in the song Helena when he sings "when both our cars collide" sounds quite similar to "is this what you always want me for ?" doesn't it ? ~Anyway.. About the song meaning. My view of seeing it is like most peoples'.. "And crash the cemetery gates in that dress your husband hates" - I was thinking in the views of the woman grieving for her husband's death; hence the "crash the cemetery gates". As for "that dress your husband hates", she must have that reason for coming to that cemetery in that dress, Well, maybe it's not so literal like that but yeeah.. "And they found you on the bathroom floor" - refers to the woman commiting suicide because of her husband's death. "Singing songs that make you slit your wrists, it isn't that much fun staring down a loaded gun" and "And I won't stop dying.." - refers to the woman (again) in the process of her suicidal actions. "If you want I'll keep on crying, did you get what you deserve ?" would be the woman still grieving over her husband, and still confused about why it had happened to him. All In all, the meaning of the song is REALLY sad.. |

Kyelinn Killjoy ![]() Age: 37 Gender: Female Posts: 27 | o.O I could've swore I heard that it was about a friend of Gerard and Mikey's that committed suicide right before they went on their first tour or after they had left or something. I honestly can't remember. So Gee wrote this in regards to her because of the grief he felt. Also, the lyrical part of "and the collision of your kiss that made it so hard" does not have to refer to a lover. I have a lot of friends that I kiss on the forehead or cheek when I see them or I'm leaving. It doesn't have to give off romantic implications. Gee could possibly be remembering telling her goodbye and she kissed his cheek or something before he left for the tour. Also to the poster above me, if you think it's all metaphors then why don't you post a little more and divulge that information, why you feel it's all metaphors, etc...? ^^ |

iblamehannah Killjoy ![]() Age: - Gender: - Posts: 1 | My interpretation of the song is that the first verse is about reminiscing about their past together. He was describing it like they had their own private world together and most of the time they talked about death (and crash the cemetery gates). Their deaths were their escape and they passed by it in many ways and at close distances (where the search lights find us, drinking by the mausoleum door). It's like how suicidal people believe that misery loves company and attempts to do it without really doing it. For example, drawing their own blood just to see what it would be like or how close they can get to it. It gives them a feeling of control. But then things change (and they found you on the bathroom floor) for the worse. And the one who was left behind feels that he is all alone again. Even if she is still around physically (or not), she's not the same anymore. And he misses her. When the time came that it was his turn to actually end his own life, he realizes that he won't do it. That's why he says "so i won't stop dying, won't stop lying." He feels that living his life is like the slowest form of suicide and he still calls out for her to come back.(if you want I'll keep on crying) When he asked "did you get what you deserve?", it might be that the girl has conformed to the world and is all her hard work paying off, or is their bond that she broke worth everything she has now? Lastly when he asks if this is always want you want me for, he probably felt used that he was only a temporary stage in the girl's life or a bridge until things get better somehow. |
kristengurl555 Killjoy ![]() Age: 25 Gender: Female Posts: 4 | I've always tought about the meaning so f this song to be like how you were dating or currently dating someone and you miss them by their kiss {which must of been very nice}. I also tought it was about drunks who somehow met and feel in love. idk im just throwing it out there, or maybe someone whos cheating? ahahaa |

My Chemical Kid Killjoy ![]() Age: 21 Gender: Female Posts: 33 | Okay so I've read alot of posts on the "don't do it" In the song but i can't find it! That's because I don't really know where to look. Help! |
whipstickagostop; Like Phantoms, Forever ![]() Age: - Gender: Female Posts: 178143 | My Chemical Kid: It's throughout the second verse. It may help looking up an instrumental of the song, where all the person did to make it "instrumental" was take out the lead vocals on the recording. |

CemeteryDweller Killjoy ![]() Age: 18 Gender: - Posts: 2 | So, a lot of people are saying that it's about a woman who cheats and kills herself. Honestly, that's what I thought when I first heard it. But what if there's more to it than that? I think that it might also be telling about the guy she cheated on her husband with digging up her grave. Before you start questioning me, hear me out on this. I mean, the whole first verse of the song is what really makes me think of this. Let me break it down: "This night, walk the dead in a solitary style and crash the cemetery gates in the dress your husband hates" - Okay, so he's visiting the cemetery. Why would he do that if she weren't already dead? Also, what if "in the dress your husband hates" isn't talking about her wearing something provocative to meet with her lover? I think it's talking about the dress she was buried in, and her husband hates it because of that. Now, the next part: "Lay down, mark the grave where the searchlights find us drinking by the mausoleum door" - I think he's marking her grave so he can dig her back up, and, after he does, he gets caught by the police. This honestly probably doesn't make sense to anyone but me but oh well. |
