You just have to make sure you don't pick up bad habits. |

Obviously i have no clue about notes/chords and all that. I was planning on taking lessons, but i cant seem to fit it in my schedule, so im attempting to teach myself.
Pretty impossible, but does anyone have any tips and/or sources where i can teach myself all the basics. |

Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 120 | November 20th, 2007 at 10:46am Just be careful.
Some people who put TABs on Ultimate Guitar get them entirely wrong.
If you're looking for a decent TAB never serch for a single track go for the full album.
They're just so much better.
Yhat's where I get all my MCR ones and they're all 100% accurate...well okay 99.9%! |

Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 120 | November 22nd, 2007 at 10:52am I'm getting a Epiphone Les Paul Special 2.
Its basically a replica of Frank Ieros guitar except less money.
Its only £100 which is awesome and, having played one, it's 10x easier to learn on! |

Thank you so much for saying that.
Whenever I search for a single song it's always wrong. |

Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 253 | November 28th, 2007 at 01:29am I'm trying to decide between a $150 to $200 Ibanez electric guitar or a similarly-priced Epiphone Les Paul electric guitar.
Any suggestions?
What are the differences between the two?
Some things I'm wondering:
Pros/cons of each?
Differences in the style of music they are geared towards?
Pick-up differences?
Weight differences?
Overall quality?
Any info would help! |

Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 120 | November 30th, 2007 at 12:47pm Well I'm going for an Epiphone Les Paul.
I've decided against getting the cheaper version for like £99 (don't ask me what this is in dollers uh...about $200 I guess coz you double it don't you?).
I'm getting the full blown Pansy guitar which Frank uses which is like £339 ($67 in alpine white with a costom vinal on it so...meh.
Oh and I'm forking out £50 ($100) for a Marshall amp with inbuilt distortion. |

id go with the epiphone, because ibanez dont seem to be really good quality, the epi's can be really heavy tho, mines about 12 pounds.. |

Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 253 | December 1st, 2007 at 04:59pm ^yeah I've heard the Epiphone can be really heavy, that's something I'm not too happy about with it.
My cousin has two Ibanez and they seem to be really good guitars and easy to play.
plus, a music store that's pretty close to where I live does sell Ibanez but doesn't sell Epiphones, so I think it would be better if I got a chance to try out the guitar before I buy it, right? |

Age: 31 Gender: Male Posts: 62 | December 9th, 2007 at 08:52pm I just bought a fender strat electric guitar from a friend. Everything is good except it is missing the top and bottom strings. I have some strings but I don't know which ones go where. What gauge strings go on the top and bottom? I hope someone can help me with this. |
