Fatally Yours Jazz Hands Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 290 | ...Are you talking to me? I don't think alcohol or pot are good at all. But I do agree that if one is legalized, the other should be as well. I just believe that it is up to each person. I have no problem with other people smoking, etc. Just don't expect me to. |
bloodredruby69 Banned Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 8293 | ^That's a good philosophy, the "you can do it but don't try to force me to" part, anyhow. And no, he was speaking to me. |
dream brother Jazz Hands Age: 41 Gender: Male Posts: 320 | Fatally Yours: i think it should be a personal choice and if you dont want to do it then dont but i also think that pot isnt as bad as some people would lead you to beleive |
bloodredruby69 Banned Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 8293 | dream brother: It is neither the devil nor salvation, but there are no real positive aspects to it either. Whatever you gain in amusement, weight or "neat experiences" you lose in thinking power and brain damage. |
Fatally Yours Jazz Hands Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 290 | dream brother: Exactly. To me, its all about personal choice. Pot and alchohol are damaging, just not up to the same extent as other drugs. That's why it makes sense to me to either legalize both, or illegalize both. |
dream brother Jazz Hands Age: 41 Gender: Male Posts: 320 | bloodredruby69: how do you lose anything from it? and again insert alcohol instead of pot and you could say the same things |
bloodredruby69 Banned Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 8293 | bloodredruby69:Like I said not five minutes ago. And the only time you earn yourself damage from alcohol is from excessive drinking, or more than your limit. No matter how little pot you smoke, it still damages your brain. |
dream brother Jazz Hands Age: 41 Gender: Male Posts: 320 | id like some proof that pot damages your brain becase ive never seen anything to prove it |
bloodredruby69 Banned Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 8293 | The more you use it, the more damage there is. However, you do damage your brain a little every time you toke. Some studies show that when people have smoked large amounts of marijuana for years, the drug takes its toll on mental functions (4). Heavy or daily use of marijuana affects the parts of the brain that control memory, attention, and learning. A working short-term memory is needed to learn and perform tasks that call for more than one or two steps. Smoking marijuana causes some changes in the brain that are like those caused by cocaine, heroin, and alcohol. Scientists are still learning about the many ways that marijuana can affect the brain. http://www.nida.nih.gov/MarijBroch/teenpg13-14.html#brain |
dream brother Jazz Hands Age: 41 Gender: Male Posts: 320 | thats from heavy daily use over period of years and did you note they compared it to alcohol? so again whats worse? |
bloodredruby69 Banned Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 8293 | And yet you still ignore that you lose some braincells every time you toke. In the excess of each, they are about equal. In the minimal useage of each, alcohol does nothing, while pot still hurts you. |
dream brother Jazz Hands Age: 41 Gender: Male Posts: 320 | that site only mentions long term use doesnt say anything about occasional use being bad of course abusing any drug and using it a lot is bad but youll have to try again and give me some proof that ocassional use of pot is bad |
bloodredruby69 Banned Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 8293 | You know what? I'm not going to waste my time looking for facts that you will wither dismiss or twist. Agree to disagree. |
dream brother Jazz Hands Age: 41 Gender: Male Posts: 320 | well read it again it says long term abuse of pot is bad nothing about minimal use being bad they said you can get addicted if you use a lot of it over a long period of time ive read a bunch of similar literature put out by the various anti drug agencies here and they dont seem to mention any bad effects associate with occasional recreational use of pot. im not twisting anything imsimply reading what it says and they say long term heavy use is bad and i would agree that using any drug heavily is a bad thing |
bloodredruby69 Banned Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 8293 | On that one site. It is also not particulary in-depth. And the effects of abuse are a given. But I was a sex-ed for four years, and we covered, among other things, drug useage. We had information from clinical studies that stated that even occasional use of recreational drugs caused damage to braincells. I've been on sites stating the damage, the statistics, and the estimate of the number of cells killed each joint, right down to each toke. I'm just not willing to spend the amount of time required to find my old books and type up the findings, or search for the sites. |
dream brother Jazz Hands Age: 41 Gender: Male Posts: 320 | well ive never seen any evidence that pot causes problems when used in small amounts sides i prefer its effect to alcohol cause alcohol just depresses me |
asha shake. Devil's Got Your Number Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 36414 | Isn't marijuana a depressant? |
XxUSEDxX Killjoy Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 23 | im doing drugs right now if you consider weed drugs. i dont , but im a asahole without it |
ShotgunnxSinnerx Fabulous Killjoy Age: 30 Gender: Female Posts: 122 | Everyone in my family does drugs except me. I think it's sad that the youngest person has to be the positive influence. I'm morally against drugs in every way possible. My ex Ryan got into drugs/alcohol and he was doing them while we were dating but he never told me and i couldn't tell. Then when i broke up with him i stopped talking to him and he got into cutting too. but i started talking to him again recently and i got him to stop drinking/doing drugs/and cutting so i'm proud of myself for getting him to stop but i'm even more proud of him for just trying let alone actually stopping it. so yeah hugs not drugs. |
