Aliss Is Dead.:
Okay guys, as I am the owner of this thread [bow down!]
Here is something else for you to discuss;

Did they come up with this new sound on purpose?

I mean, Did they make this album to attract a certain type of fan?
Did they mean to make themselves big?

Discuss.

Honestly I think the success was a pleasant surprise for them I mean a concept album about anything let alone mortality has a good chance of being a dud whether it's done well or not. which this one was done very well. Smile

I'd hafta say the old MCR.
I do love the new one, but they seem to have changed so much.. I guess it was a lot easier for me to relate to the old guys, especially with things like the I'm not Okay video, they were kind of describing what goes on in everyday life and made it seem okay to be the weird kid...
But now they're kinda growing up..

Bullets is their best album by far. Matt was a much better drummer than Bob, but I still love everything they've done. I'm seeing them on april 29. dandy

Both. But I could live well without the teenies of today's MCR. I miss having the opportunites to meet them and stuff.

The New MCR.

To be quite honest, I hated MCR before they became what they are today. And believe me... I wouldn't have them any other way... I really love the boys, and such, but they've matured and stuff over the past six years.

They've changed for the better.

i love them both too, but I think I like the old My Chemical Romance more.
It just seemed like they were more into the fun of making music then now
Now they seem like they want to make music kinda more depressing and remind you of all the sad things in life.
Before I would say kinda the same thing but thier actuall music(like the guitars n stuff) made it more fun to listen too.

I dont know thats just me. >>

You find their music depressing??
Let me throw in really random lines from their newer songs.......
"I am not afraid to keep on living, I am not afraid to walk this world alone"
"We'll Carry on"
"Do or die, you'll never make me.
Because the world will never take my heart
Go and try, you'll never break me
We want it all, we wanna play this part
I won't explain or say I'm sorry
I'm unashamed, I'm gonna show my scar"

Whereas their older songs were angrier/sadder than this, but I LOVE ALL!!!

Edit: Is there an old or a new MCR? Sure, hairs have been changed and newer outfits have come into the picture. But who doesn't get new clothes and it's still pretty much the same style they've always been seen in. The thing is, Gerard is still the dude who loves Star Wars, is incredibly shy towards women, and loooooovvess comic books and drawing/creating them. Frank is still the funny humorous guy who loves hanging with the fans. Ray, there's nothing to say, Ray has never, EVER changed. Bob, same quiet, silly, Bob. and Mikey is still the silly one who says the most random things during interviews. The only difference is that day by day, they get the recognition they deserve and it becomes harder for the original fans to get to meet them and stuff due to an excess amount of teenies. Though situations have changed for us, that doesn't mean they have changed.
Also, if they keep producing the same sounding kind of music....we might as well listen to those scene bands out there. I love MCR because of their incredibly wide range of melodies and lyrics. I'm always entertained and their songs have such variety, they always have a song to suit my mood. There's a song of theirs I could listen to when I'm sad, happy, bored, energetic, pissed-as-fck, all of that.

well since gerard's sobered up
and they're all happy
and plus they're really big now and all
i guess they would prefer to stay the way they are now
and i'm totally fine with that
but...
but...
i miss them!!!
esp. during bullets!!! THEY WERE THE SHIT!!!!
