Again, not talking about the legit stuff. I've seen sites where guys trick teens and young adults into having sex with them and it's blindingly obvious that they don't know they're being taped.

You'd be surprised how many of those sites are set up though. Most of the "tricked into having sex" things seem to be just part of the 'story line'.

Even if they did know, my point was that it's still kind of exploiting them, especially if it's a girl who's desperate for money and can't think of another way to get money. That's taking advantage of the her situation, which is exploiting them.

If the woman knows she is being paid to have sex on camera then I don't see how it is exploiting her. Irrespective of whether she's desperate or not. If she's desperate for money, that's her deal. The producers may not even know she's desperate for money.

I don't know how to explain what I'm trying to say.
I don't think it's fair to the women, they're just using her for their own means. It seams unfair to me.

^Well, the way I see it is;
If the woman or man is getting paid for having sex or performing sex acts on camera and consent to it, then I don't see it as being exploitative or unfair in any way. They agree to it and are paid money.

If they aren't paid money but still consent to having sex etc. on camera, then in my eyes that is also okay because they are consenting to it and know what they are getting themselves into.

I can understand where you're coming from on some level, but at the same time I'm confused as to how you can see it as being exploitative if they're not actually being exploited.

I don't have a problem with it as long as the people taking part knows what's going on. It's not right that they're being taped and don't even know it.

^I figured out why it's kind of exploitive. (That's not really the right word) In most pornos the women are portrayed as really slutty whores. It portrays them as just objects for a guy to use, and that women are there to pleasure men. I don't like that.

That really didn't add to the conversation at all.

Sometimes in porn, the woman is willing.
That's what I'm assuming anyways.

Just because the woman is willing, it doesn't mean she won't be treated like an 'object'. I think what Alone. was saying was they are more often than not used as sex objects - objects that only exist to please the man etc.

Having said that, women should know what they are getting themselves into when they go into the porn industry. If they go into it willingly, then surely they would know how they are going to be portrayed.

----

I was actually talking with my friend and her boyfriend the other day about porn. And his perspective was actually, I thought, more degrading to the men in pornography. He actually referred to male pornstars as being 'hosts for their dicks' or something along those lines, meaning that he couldn't actually care less for the guy in porn because all he is is just a large dick and nothing more. And he was going on about how men in porn shouldn't have any speaking roles or anything because it should all be focussed on the woman. I realise he's straight and he probably gets turned on by mainly women, but I thought it was kind of, well... rude (for want of a better word) to refer the the male in that way. Just like people sometimes refer to women as being "pussy" in a sexist way.

It kind of left me scratching my head. I'm so used to hearing people talk about women in a degrading manner when it comes to porn, not men, so I was kind of surprised.

^ I never thought of it that way, but I can understand it. In a movie, all the dude is, is a big dick, Really I think attraciveness comes second to how the guy sizes up, and I feel honest pity for the chicks who have to be involved with the weird lookin ones.

I see how it can be degrading of women, but I never really thought people would learn to degrade women from it. I figured that the people who watch stuff where the chicks are truly inoccent and are taken advantage of are only fofilling a need that was already inside themselves.

Honestly, the I believe the biggest negative impact porn has would be guys feeling insicure about themselves because they spend all they're time watching pornstars walking around with a third leg.

How so? Because she is enjoying sex? I always thought the term Slut or Whore in titles were just added to give it more drama. No matter what it just two (or more) people havin a good time.

All in all, if a woman is consenting and doing her part, I don't see any problem with it/ if she is alright being portrayed as what she is in the moment, then its alright with me. ~ Rex

I once caught my dad watching porn and personally, looking at the TV screen made me want to vomit.I remember that a blond woman with giant breasts, was doing a blow job on a guy.The whole movie showed only the woman and that guy's penis. It seems to me that women in porn industry are like toys in whory clothes, who get lots of cash just to fuck with some ugly asshole with the same purpose in life-money and fame.

The women are always portrayed as just an object whose only purpose is to pleasure a man. Which I guess is understandable because 99% of porn is made for men.

as what she is in the moment
So when a woman has sex she is a slut/whore? I guess that means every girl who is not a virgin is a slut.

No, not at all. I was only saying that if a women is okay being portrayed as a slut for the sake of a movie shes in, or just doesn't care about her image, then neither do I.

As you said, its made by men, for men. So it is gonna be centered around men. Of anything I have seen, I have never thought of any actress as a Slut or a Whore. Each member is a person, no more and no less. From all I've seen there are some who where WAY to much eye make up, this for me is the biggest link I've ever found to being associated with a prostitute.

I disagree.I don't think that porn actresses want to portrayed as sluts. It's all about the money.

But there is something very interesting to me-most porn actresses marry their producers or other porn actors and they say they love each other and etc.So when they're asked about their job (having sex with other people),they say that it's a job like any other and they don't mind the fact, that their partners are cheating on them and it doesn't matter that they know about it.Would you agree with this kind of love?I don't.I just can't imagine how I'll share my boyfriend/fiance/husband with more than...2000 people,or maybe more.

Yeah, it has much less to do with objectifying women and more who the audience is. I'v seen gay porn/porn made for woman. It does the same thing to guys. Less of it is made, thats just how it is.

Why is who they marry and sleep with within their marriage a big deal to you though? It's their marriage, and the porn stars partners (I would suggest) know what their profession is. If they're okay with it, that's fine. It's their marriage and they can do whatever they please. If that means that they both sleep with other people on camera for a living, then so be it. They make the decision.

This sentence really confuses me. So... they wear a lot of eye make up... and they somehow look like a prostitute? Say what...?

^Sorry bout that. I don't know, some pornstars who would normally be attractive seam to have a bad habit of caking on blue eye shadow. I guess this matches up with my imagined steryotipic prostitute. I was simply expressing the only senerio where I personally think "wow she looks like a whore." And that it had nothing to do with the actual video persay (interactoin with others) but how she presented herself. Does that help?

I actually don't care about it very much.I was listening to an interview with two of the most famous porn-stars,while posting here. They were married and actually this made me think about those marriges.
