Student/Teacher Relationships

my english teacher just got sacked because she was sleeping with a student.
so do you guys think bout it?

I have nothing against them. I mean, yeah, there is the whole under age thing, but if they are eighteen, I say they can.

Well, depends on a lot of things.
If the student was underage, even if the student instigated it, it's still wrong. But if the student is of legal age, I'm not sure what that is in wherever you are, then I think that's fine. Even though it may be a little unfair if the teacher teaches the student in question, because wouldn't the teacher be biased in favour of the student?

If they are both old enough to understand love and are both old enough to have sex legally, then I think it's okay.
It would porbably be better if the student was no longer being taught by the teacher though, because some people might get jelous and say that the teacher favors the student he/she is sleeping with.

I really don't agree with relationships between students and teachers, no matter if the student is underaged or not. It's just unethical.
Most companies are against their employees having intimate relationships with the companie's clients. And that happens for a reason.
A teacher is there to teach the children, not sleep with them. Most of the times, the students just have a huge admiration for the teacher but, because they are so young, they confuse it with love. And let's not forget that most of us have, at least once in our lives, had a crush on someone who was much older than us. A teacher is a grown up and should know better than taking advantage of a dissorientated kid.

same, a dude got fired, but it was a student from another school, so it wasnt like headlining gossip

the student at my school was only 15. the teacher was 26. it was kept very hush hush, but i knew the guy and he told me.

I don't think I've known of a relationship between teacher & student going on at any of the schools I've attended.
I do believe a student was sexually harrassed by a teacher once in my Intermediate school though.

I obviously don't think any of this is okay to do.

The high school near me had a story where some sub had sex with a student. The schools now one of the worst in the state (Victoria, Australia).

But anyways, if the kids old and mature enough, why not? It's still love.

really unless anything they do is illegal, i find no reason to object against it. they are still human beings right? i mean if the teacher had a different job views on their relationship would change right? that's not fair

depends on age, as others have said. but thats only for sleeping/living with the teacher. if your in say the 9th grade and you and a teacher are in love its fine to be together as a normal teenage couple would, just not sleeping together. otherwise its fine.

It happened at Roxburgh Park, It's near a crap suburb, so you'd expect that because most of the kids there are druggies or theifs.

I think its horrible. Teachers are there too teach kids, not sleep with them. Eww.

i was listening to a current affiars program on my local youth radio station, and it was about how a female teacher was groped infront of her 1st year class, by a leaving student in his school leaving year. It made the female teacher feel embarassed and ashamed.

maybe the teacher/student sexual harassment thing can go both ways
