demolitionlover3112 Killjoy Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 7 | Alrighty, after reading all of the responese I have somewhat come up with a somewhat detailed meaning that is somewhat blurry { I am using somewhat too much}: Ok we all have a hunch with what it means. Weather it is about Bert or about the Patients life and stuff. I hear it and put it liek this: -your just a sad song with nothing to say as in I have so much crap going on that I am sort of speechless in a numb state -about a lifelong wait for a hospital stay as in I have had downers my whole life and eventually it has or will break me completely -and if you think that im wrong this never meant nothin to ya as in if i am lost and dont understand the hurt and suffering then this wont mean anything because i havent experienced that kind of feeling So when I hear the song my feelings get jumbled in the best possible way. Some of the smallest phrases hit close to home. I feel better knowing someone else wrote what my head screams silently all the time. It sounds depressing but its pretty uplifting for most |

madame angst Salute You in Your Grave Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 4551 | Haa. The Patient thing is like another side to the story. For example, each of the songs were written about the band's experiences...but they also represented The Patient's journey. To me, anyray. |

justanotherfan Killjoy Age: 39 Gender: Female Posts: 5 | You can hear the live version of it on youtube. I don't know if they have the song recorded or anything. I love this song. If this song is their next single, like it's rumored to be. Their video should be them sitting in a movie theatre, watching some of their past shows. Or, if they wanted it to be related to the whole story, they could have flashes of past life put on the screen. |
Inertiatic Esp. Bleeding on the Floor Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 1300 | i am not fully sure of what this song means... but i think it is beautiful The first time i heard it i started to cry... Gerards voice is so phenomenol It has such an intense background... i think its beautiful |
captain fine. Demolition Lover Age: 30 Gender: Female Posts: 16055 | ^ dude i agree so much. like i know this thread isn't about how much we love the song, but its so beautiful. it definately seems like its kind of looking back on life, and hes kind of realizing that all the people who ever gave him shit weren't worth it, maybe? i donno. all i know is that is amazing. |

fxckingChelz'' Killjoy Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 55 | I think disenchanted is about, how the world is a shithole place and its run by "the man" the bit that stands out the most to me is "i spent my high school career spit on and shoved to agree, while i watch all my heroes sell a car on TV" because high school sucks so bad and most of ur "heroes" like movie stars and watnot, set you up for disappointment watching them get cash for wearing a certain clothing brand or makeup adds, this world is all about commercialism and makin $$$ screw dis, as i finish i steal this quote from some off another message board, "the black parade is one BIG rude finger to the world" |
LifeOnStandby Motor Baby Age: 32 Gender: Male Posts: 941 | "I spent my high school career Spit on and shoved to agree So I could watch all my heroes Sell a car on tv Bring out the old guillotine We'll show 'em what we all mean" Probably been stated. But throughout highschool for many, don't know if MCR in particular...people that "Stand out" get pushed around a lot. Then the related of their heroes that they look upto aren't what they were thought to be. Just an image but not the real thing and they want to prove the meaning to them. My friend, sean, interpreted as someone gettnig pushed around in highschool while they do whatever they can to get a glimpse of their heroes, what they want to be. They're willing to do what they can, hence last 2 lines of the stanza. Not at all sure, but jsut some thoughts... "We watched our lives on the screen. I hate the ending myself, But it started with an alright scene." The side story part is rather obvious. But, I like to see it differenty put under light. I think it as, you look back and you don't like how its going. Relationships fall under the topic about past most when it hits me. Relationships seem to start out alright...but they can end up pretty bad. In broken relationships you seem to look back and realise how it started and how you wish it hadn't ended that way, still friends or got some worth out of. Not sure if theres any relatance here also. "was the roar of the crowd That gave me heartache to sing. It was a lie when they smiled And said, "you won't feel a thing" And as we ran from the cops We laughed so hard it would sting" I think this stanza in particular is related to MCR itself. But as I see it, the roar of the people and their will to enable them to go on gave them thier will to use music as thier weapon. They thought that there wasn't going to be any harm done during the career and just went along merrily. Maybe payback is a b* from the cops, iffy on that. But that infact they thought it as to be a joyride but more to it than it seemed. I like how it related to the other stanza I brought up first. Kind've connects in my perspective that he used music as power just as he had wanted to proven as a child looking up to his heroes. I could go on for a long time about this song, one of my favorites. I might not hit it right on, but I like my interpetation of the song. |

kel.suicide Bleeding on the Floor Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 1269 | my mom loves this song, but i believe that it's about that patient reflecting on his life. and it also reflects on gerard's life. for example, "i spent my high school career spit on and shoved to agree." when he was in school, he was picked on by others and didn't have that many friends. so, that's my thoughts. |
Silent_Whispers Salute You in Your Grave Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 2119 | This song among all of there songs is by far my favorite. But I believe this song is about how us fans stayed with MCR even through Gerard's drug/alcohol addiction. How every thing was bad, but it started out with an alright scene. How so many things change, but also some stay the same...if that makes any sense at all. |
