^Ha ha, yeah, I'm avoiding doing a Bio lab right now, so I'd pretty much dog anyone to the ends of the earth if it didn't involve circulatory systems.

I didn't mean to imply that you're a hypocrite or anything, though. I'm honestly just curious about the way other people think. Oh, and welcome to INO =]

Thanx, have fun with that bio lab..oh shit I have write an essay for my english, I'd better go

I don't see how allowing two men or two women get married restricts marriage at all? It doesn't. The marriage between John and Jane will still mean as much even if you allow John and Jack get married. There isn't a limited supply of love, there isn't a limited supply of marriage certificates. If anything allowing couples of the same sex would do the complete opposite and not restrict marriage at all.

^Exactly. It seems so stupid to me to say that homosexuals would degrade marriages when Britney Spears is allowed to marry Kevin Federline.

Chris Rock said something like that.
I'm paraphrasing here, but it was along the lines of:

People say homosexuals can't get married because marriage is a sacred institution that takes place in the church.
... Marriage isn't sacred.
Not in the country of Who Wants to Marry a Millionaire and the Bachelor and Who Wants to Marry a Midget.

And he's got a point. Marriage isn't sacred anymore.

If you ask me, marrige (both gay ans straight) should have NOTHING to do with the goverment. My friend says "If you allow gay marriges you must allow marrige with animals". Well i am like: "So what. If you want to marry a dog, go ahead. i wont stop you."

Since when is gay marriage the same as beastiality?
People are just stupid.
That's the problem.
If you don't want gay people to get married, don't go to their weddings and don't get a gay marriage.
Keep your life perfect and then you can whine and nag about someone else's all you want.

I don't see any problems with homosexuals. One of my best friends is gay and there is nothing worng with him. I find it quite funny because we all talk a bout which guys are hot. I can't see what is wrong about it, It might not be natural, it might be going against what we are put on the world to do (have kids) but if people are in love with the same sex of people, that shouldn't be wrong. Why not marry if your in love?
Human and animal is purely wrong though
Human and the dead is wrong.
Humans should love and be able to love as long as the persons alive. It shouldn't be forced. And the humans shouldn't have a huge age gap or be really young.
... That's what I think

My uncle's brother is getting married to another guy this summer, and I have absolutely no problem with it. As far as I'm conserned, people should be able to love who they love, no matter the sex.
And I'm just really happy that they found each other. (My uncle's brother and his boyfriend)

I believe in gay marriage whole-heartedly. Why deny a gay person any less rights than what a straight person would have?

If you think about it logically and take love completely out of it.
I mean, love isn't necessary for marriage.
Sixty bucks and your signature is. People marry for green cards, money, etc.
Denying gay people the right to marry is denying them civil rights every other person has.
Equal rights are not special rights.

I don't understand how people can get away with marrying someone just to stay in a country, or just for their money, when they don't love that person, but two people in love can't marry just because they are the same sex.

It's pathetic. There are much worse things in the world that should be banned, and instead of focusing on them, the government bans same sex marriage, just because they're the same sex. It's such a small trivial thing. Gay people are exactrly the same as straight. They are no better, or worse than straight people. What is the harm in them getting married? Som epeople might be upset? Whatever you do someone is going to upset about it, the government really needs to get over it.

You have to understand that bureaucratic inertia dominates the political and legal institutions. Mentalities don't change over night. People generally don't change the way they think.
Humans are social products who adopt the values and morals of the society they live in. Think about the people who are members of the institutions that rule every country: they are all at least in their 30s. They were taught that same sex relationships are something wrong. In my opinion, not too much wil change for gay rights until the younger, more open-minded gernerations become old enough to be part of these institutions.

BTW, don't blame religion for everything. Someone said that gay relationships were accepted in ancient societies like the Roman one, and things changed with the arrival of the Christian religion. Well, it's true, gay relationships were accepted, but gay marriages were NOT. It's all about the values and morals of the society, and htese days religion doesn't influence them so much.

The argument I always here against same sex marriage is that "Marriage is a sacred institution that occurs between a man and a woman".
Sacred = holy, religious, blessed, etc.

Religion shapes cultures and beliefs.
It just doesn't seem like they do so much nowadays because there are more variations of religions and more tolerance towards different religions.
But essentially, homosexuality is frowned upon by many religious groups and that is why some people find it morally wrong, because their religion has taught them it is morally wrong or sinful.

Druscilla is right. For many people who are against gay marriages, marriage is considered as 'sacred'.
"There are four sacraments in Christianity, which a person would normally receive before adulthood. The first three, Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist are the sacraments of initiation in the Christian life. The fourth is Marriage. The word 'sacrament' means, 'to make holy.' A sacrament is a religious celebration in which God conveys a special spiritual blessing on a person, which helps him or her to live a life of faith." - from my school RE text book, which I cannot remember the name of.

People say that homosexuals are 'unnatural', meaning that they don't occur in nature, right?
What about all of those gay penguins?
And bulls?
There are alot of gay animals out there...
Meaning it can't be unnatural because it occurs in nature.

I can't believe that people would not allow gay marriage.
Seriously.
Would straight people like it if they weren't allowed to marry the person they loved?
