Some people who hate him now just because he's fallen out with Gerard are using his drug problem as an excuse not to like him which isn't very fair. No one bitched about Gerard when he did drugs. Everyone was worried about him and wanted him to get better but people weren't judging him for it.

It's a bit like the difference between an alcoholic and a regular person who has a few drinks on a night out. A druggie is someone who is so addicted that its out of their control and its taken over their life. All they think and care about is drugs so they are usually homeless. They spend all their time either taking drugs or trying to get them (usually by mugging old ladies/stealing cause they don't have jobs). Bert takes drugs, but he doesn't depend on them. He has a career and is doing a lot with his life instead of wasting a way on the streets.

I'm a massive fan of both My Chem and The Used, and I never stopped listening to either because I haven't sided with either Bert or Gerard. This thing happened like 3 years ago, and I think Gerard is being the more mature one at this point because he's not making cracks at Bert on stage, which unfortunately isn't the case on the other side. I don't think they were ever a couple, but I'm unsure if they were just playing up to cameras or whether there was actually something that happened between them when they were particularly wasted...

Smoking some weed every once in a while is no different from having a glass of wine now and then. People who drink wine don't suddenly go out and buy a bottle of JD cause they got used to the wine. Also I am starting to believe more and more that Bert and Gerards relationship was, well special I'll call it. Very special and Gerard must have been the one who hurt Bert more than he realized. ugh! writing berard is harder than I thought it would be. It's starting to fuck with my mind, I had a dream someone came on here with a vid they found on youtube and Gerard and Bert were backstage holding each other and kissing...except they thought they were alone so there was no reason to do that for "shock" value.
