I learnt that just a week ago!

H= hammer on
P= Pull off
{Like Gustav said, if you have trouble with tabs, try reading his tutorial. Wink}

what you do is you hold onto 2 and hammer onto 4
pull off at 2 and then leave it open.

does that make sense ?

MCR have horrendously boring bass lines.[/quote]

lol... I agree!
But at least that they're not as boring as HIM's!!!

Most of Mikeys basslines for TBP start on fret 5 on the A string (well... the verses)

lol... MCR's bass lines are simple... that Y i play 'em!

Don't you guys think bass players (Apart from Mikey, and Pete Wentz frm FOB) are Under-rated?

The good get no attention, the bad get all the attention, mainly because they have time to look good while playing their simple minded shit.

I have a A Sunburst Bowwood. It was quite cheap (£149 for Bag, Guitar, and Rocket 20 Amp.), and it plays well...

Yes
It's so simple.
A three year old could play it.

I don't see why people say that Mikey Way is their bassist hero when everything he plays is

G|---------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|---------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|-5555555555555555----------------------------------------------------|
E|------------------7777777777777777-3333333333333333-5555555566667777-|

There's nothing really special about that.

I Agree! But you have to give Mikey some credit, he did learn by himself and kicked himself in the ass until he was good enough to even play on stage. Bassist hero, NO definantly not that job belongs to Nikki Sixx. But in effort he gets an A. Plus he's the only one of the band members besides frank(even then I'm still shakey on him) who I can stand.

the thing i think with mikey is that..i think the easy bass lines fit the songs.. im pretty sure mikey is capable of making really hard bass lines but i really dont think it would fit the songs.

Try looking it up on http://www.ultimate-guitar.com
you'll have to scroll through some guitar tabs but they have good bass tabs as well on there.

I think it's either one of two things,
1) The bass line in the song is supposed to be submerged and it's the guitar's turn to shine, I mean if you had a freaking amazing guitarist like Ray and a hardcore rythm like Frank you'd want them to be more seen.
2) In the songs he likes ect, he puts more into bass lines, House of Wolves, Give 'Em Hell, if you just listen some of them are more intracate where as some could have alot of stuff added to them and still sound just as good.
^ That's what I like to think.
What would you say is the number one bass tip you've learned and would like to share to the fellow bassist, either about playing, preforming, or improvising?

mm...i learned this for the cello but
if something is complicated and fast... don't jump straight in to it at the right speed and get stressed and miss all the notes and rhythm.. start slower and make sure you get all the notes then gradually get faster.. like if the piece is 120 for the tempo.. start at like 60.. then 62.. and go up and up a bit like that
