i think it's not needed... i mean selling your body for money just for an easy way to have sex? that is quite disgusting if you ask me. i would rather porno then fucking prostitution. but i think, just like with pot, it would help a lot of they government just had it legalized since people are going to do it no matter where you go.

^Prostitutes aren't really in it for the sex. It's for the money. I saw a documentary where one prostitute said that enjoying it would just "tire them out" - so they wouldn't be able to work as much, so they'd make less money.

Also, no cursing on the Discussion Board. Read the rules before posting.

^Rule 9.
Sex is a natural thing. People are always going to do it. It's sad that women have to be driven to that to survive, but everyone involved is consenting. If a woman wants to sell her body, that's her issue. It doesn't hurt anyone, unlike drugs.

^Yes, but those thing happen because it's illegal. If it was legalized and considered a legitimate profession, drugs would be no more involved in prostitution than they would in any other career. Actually, prostitution is legal in licensed brothels in Nevada, and things there are clean and safe. Men are inspected before they pay; they can be refused if there's even a hint of an STD.

i really don't see how people can like that, and i really just don't... see how someone can do something like that.
i just feel that there are other ways to make money, if you want to make something out of yourself one day. but i guess not to some people.

If you like sex and you like to make men/women happy then it might be a good job for you. If you don't want to be a prostitute, then don't be one.

^Of course you can.
There's more to being a prostitute than liking sex. Obviously.
It's just one of the benefits, if you can enjoy it and still turn a profit.

And you can like sex and make money off it.
It's just a personal choice.
I don't want to be a prostitute, so I won't.
I also don't want to be a doctor.
It's a personal choice.
Or rather, it should be legalized and federally monitored so that it is a personal choice.

I think that it should be legal, i personally wouldn't use a prostitute but there is some people out there that maybe cant find love or aren't sexually active for some reason or other and would like to indulge themselves. But, just cos i think it should be legal doesn't mean i think it's right. I think you should have sex with someone if you're in love with them and they're in love with you...

Another issue thanks to illegal prostitution

At Renfaire where I work over Summer, me and some of my female co workers were trying to think up ways to make more revenue for our boss, who lives on the sales we make (we are gamers)
We figured that a kissing booth would do quite nicely, and it made a sharpload, but we were shut down because apparently that counts as prostitution. a small peck on the lips >_>

well im against it and im for it. i find it unecessary but then again people have the right to do whatever they want to do. its really only sucessful because people support the trend. without "customers" they would be forced into a better lifestyle. we cant expect them to know the better, and change their behaviors based on what we find expectable and treating your body better than selling yourself off. im saying that you can't make them not sell themself off, only people who are associated with it can put prostitution at an end, not the government, and not me or you, them. and so if they are aware of the consiquences and they should be aware of what the negative possiblities are then thats the risk they take.

XD I for one am glad that people support their lifestyle.

It's pretty hard to get a job these days, and a woman that is taking care of a family, or even just herself would benefit greatly from the large amount of money that prostitution brings in (for a "minimum wage job"Wink

Who are you to say whether or not s/he is living a bad lifestyle?
Do you know every prostitute's circumstances?
And you're, what, 14?

well, it's their body, they can do what they like, to be honest.
i'm not saying i agree with it, but i'm reading a book called "call me elizabeth", and it's
about a woman with like 7 kids who goes into the 'game' to pay the bills. it's sad.

how people could just turn to selling themselves, i don't know, but like i said, it's
their choice.

I think prostitution should be made legal. If it was, there would be special agencies to do it with. They could have places where they take down the names, numbers and addresses of people hiring the prostitutes and therefore would know who had a prostitute when. This would make the whole thing safer cutting out the curb crawling part of it.

However, as many people have previously said, just because I think it should be legal, doesn't mean I think it is right. Sex should be done with a partner and someone you genuinely want to be with. However, if both parties don't mind a one off thing, prostitution is fine by me.

I think that prostitution should be legal. Drugs are illegal, and how many of you know at least one person that has done some form of drug?
If it's legal, it can be done in a safer, clean environment. I mean, God, the government can flipping TAX it if it makes them sleep better at night.
And anyways, a lot of prostitutes don't join in the game just because they like having sex. That's ridiculous. If they liked it that much, they'd get a significant other.
A lot of them are FORCED into the trade because of addiction and money problems. It's the only way to get the next fix or pay for their children's dinner. It's sad and it's awful, but I for one, am not going to look down on a woman OR man (since all of the posts that I have read have referred to women) that turn a trick to feed their baby.

I think that it's looked down upon out of habit. For so long we have seen sex as a dirty, private affair. If you think about it, sex has only recently been a "public affair". It's now talked about everywhere. It's an accepted form of conversation now, if you will.
It's no longer that big of a deal.
But we're still stuck on it meaning something. We look down on these women an men, because that's what we're used too. We don't see it from their eyes, we see it out of society's eyes, and until we've lived their life, we have no place to judge.
