Well, I'm 50/50 for prostitute legalization.

Of course, these things should be watched:
∞The prostitute's health must be clean.
∞She should check client if he has some form of disease before she engages in sexual intercourse.
∞No harm must be done to the prostitute nor the client except in some cases.
Yes, there are sadistic clients and that's a problem.
Hurting the prostitutes and stuff.
Well, if the prostitute's a masochist then, okay.
But she shouldn't be beaten up 70%.
And she shouldn't be killed.

30 seconds to Sam///:
Maybe I'm wrong.
But my opinion,
is they're setting themselves up for either murder or an STD.

Very few prostitutes plan to be prositutes. They're forced into the profession for lack of money, food, home, etc. Sometimes they're physically forced into it. When you really have no other way to survive and are forced out onto the streets you're not "setting yourself up" to get killed or infected. It's a constant danger and there's not much you can do to prevent it. But it's not something you should have to expect. If more was done to help prostitutes improve the quality of their lives then maybe the world would be a better place. Most of the time, they're doing it to get money to feed their family. So to expose yourself to such danger for the love of others is pretty selfless.

What do you mean by "setting themselves up" anyway? If you're saying prostitutes can expect/deserve/ask to be killed and infected then we will soon be having an argument. This is going to turn into the Rape thread..

I do think it should be legal.
First of all, it's the oldest job in the world, isn't it? There are and there will be prostitutes in the world, no matter if what they do is considered legal or illegal.
Also, it would be easier for the police to monitorise their activity and, consequently, it would be safer for everyone: less prostitutes would be raped or killed.
And let's not forget about the so-called "escorts", the luxury prostitutes. Two such women live in my neigbourhood. They haven't really worked a day in their life, they just sleep with rich guys but they each have houses and cars, expensive clothes and jewerly. Because prostitution is not legal, they don't pay any taxes. They earn more in a couple of hours than normal people earn in a few months working from 9 to 5, and yet they do pay taxes, while those prostitutes don't.

I don't think it should be legal, but then again, it's their choice. Some people might have to do it just so they can get some food on the table for their family, so maybe if you need money THAT bad one night of sex won't hurt, right?
Just use a condom.

^That's what I was saying.
Okay you can moniter them once a week to make sure they don't get and STD, but how are you going to make sure that all their clients are good people who won't beat the girls or kill them? How do you even know who the clients are? It's practically impossible to keep tabs on everyone using the prostitution services, so there probably would be a few cases of murdered/injured prostitutes.

personally, i think anyone who visits a prostitute isn't what i would consider a "good person".

if its legal i think its fine. i dont really care what they do. their choice. no one is making them do it. i really dont care.

but,
it can be dangerous. and its wrong. sleeping with people you dont even know for money is wrong. but again, its their life, their problem if anything bad happens. this is something i would never do, and im sure i speak for everyone else on this thread, and i honestly dont care if girls want to sleep with half the men in town.

Yeah. If people are prostitutes then they are in need of something. Or are obssesed with sex. I don't think it should be legal, but that won't do anything because it's still going to happen. It's just an issue that will never be stopped. Some people know what other people want. And some, see it as an easy way to make money. I find it disturbing. Confused I would rather kill myself.
As for those who are forced into it, I hope the police can find a way to help them.

If it does become legal, than the prostitutes who barely have enough money as it is would have to pay taxes too. They most likely don't have enough money to eat or feed their kids, which they probably have because it's the man's choice to wear a condom.

I don't know where I stand on this topic. The only reason I think prostitution should be legalised is because it is some peoples' only way to make money and they desperately need it. But there are also reasons why I am against prostitution so I am undecided.

It's not the man's choice.
There are such things as female condoms.

well, if they were a "good person" , i wouldn't think they would visit a prostitute. I think, for instance, my dad is a good person, and i don't associate him with prostitutes, but you never know. They might have two faces. but the reason i dont think theyre good people is because they just want sex, no relationship, no love or bonding other than physical sexual bonding. so ya.

Slightly but not really? Okay well just imagine for a second that you were forced into prostitution by your parents (yes a little extreem but it DOES happen in many countries), there you are, being forced to have sex with lots of people who you do not know and not geting any money or anything for it, are you trying to say that is not rape?

Im up for lots of things to be legalised.
Like (Some) drugs.
And Euthinasia. And gay Marriges.

Bring back the brothals, I say. Brothals can be affordable, reliable, clean and safe, and watching a brothal is easier than keeping track of a dozen prostitutes individually.

Legalize prostitution as it is?

No.

Legalize brothals?

Yes.
