I searched but found nothing. Forgive me if it's already been posted.

I was just talking about this on another thread and it got me wondering: What was your first impression of MCR?

For me I was 11 & listened to nothing but rap so I found these men really creepy. I actually for a little bit believed that Gerard was some kind of supernatural creature(like a zombie) b/c I didn't realize he had makeup on his skin to make it look so pale.

I have liked them since like December 2006. The first time I saw them I was at my friends house and their video Helena came on. I liked it a lot. They played the video like every day and I really liked it a lot. In 7th grade my friend had a picture in her locker(It was a picture of them with all their make up on) I thought they were really creepy. I realized it was them but didn't think about it. I had a dream about me and her going to a Green Day concert (Her favorite band in the world) and My Chemical Romance was there too. We saw them in their Black Parade outfits and then the concert was starting so we went to our seats and watched the concert. I woke up after that. I don't know why I dreamed about that because I never heard of them before I had that dream. I had heard of Green Day but not My Chemical Romance. It was really weird. I got the black parade CD and i really like it. I'm glad I had that dream because they are my favorite band now.

I probably sound like an idiot but this this is how i started liking them

Isn't this kinda like the "What did you think of Gerard" thread? Anyways, I guess I was like..."This song sucks. Who listens to this goth shit?"

Uhh, I was watching a Three Cheers commercial, and I
was like, 'oh I guess I'll have to like them if I'm gonna like Green Day.'
I was 12 and naive, mind you.
I really started liking them and got the Three Cheers album and loved them ever since.

When I first saw INO, I was scared of Gerard. xD Mind you, I was about 10 or 11.. I don't think I could even watched that video back then without having to hide under my covers. x3 But then I saw Helena and was like,"Oh.. These guys aren't that bad!"

When I heard Demolition Lovers, which is the first song I've heard of MCR I wasn't sure if I liked it or not.

Well, I was about 12. Here, in Poland, they started being noticable few months ago, but my cusin is a realy big rocker, so one of summer holidays she spend talking about them all the time. Then, on some german channel they played "I'm not okay". I was a Good Charlotte fan and I foun the video somehow similar... I thought something like "Oh, they're cool, strange, funny, but quite cool". For me then, they were a group of strange metal rockers (I know, I was quite stupid...).

My grandma first impresion: "Oh my god, they look like...No, they are satanist!!! Because my mother showed her realy old photo which I kept in my wallet... My mom thinks that they are a group of junkies, and dad belives deeply that Gerard is gay, "coz no straight man would something like this with hair". So, I'm not the worst one in my family...

I first saw them 2 years ago with the second version of I'm Not Okay (I Promise). I heard them. I thought they were amazing and I even wrote their name on a Post-it with Best Band Ever!!! under it. XD I spent the rest of that day finding pictures and looking for their videos and about a week later I had both of their CDs to that point. So, I've loved them as long as I've known of them.

I started listening to them when I was nine, I got Bullets and all. but I didn't get it for a while. Then when the singles for Revenge started coming out I started listening a bit more closely and fell in love.

But at first the deepness went right over my head.

I hated them, but my friend was really into them so I downloaded “Demolition Lovers” and fell in love. I went looking for Bullets but the first place I went to told me it was “so rare and hard to find” so I just ended up buying Three Cheers. Fell in love. Found Bullets the next day and fell in love even more.

I think it was probably when the I'm Not Okay video came out, I think I was thinking something along the lines of "haha that dude with the long black hair is awesome! wait a minute, so is the song! heh and that dude has a rather cool 'fro..."
