be aware that the increase divorce is linked to the increase of teen or pre-marital pregnancies.
------
It's also caused by teenagers thinking they're mature enough to get married when they're not even out of school yet.

Ok. So I'm Jewish, I'm supposed to hate this.

Religiously, it is inevitably wrong.

However.

I've come to a realization and decided that premarital sex is BASICALLY fine- you want to have sex with someone and get pregnant without support? Your problem.

Here's MY problem with premarital sex, and the rest of the discussions about sex and such- the emotional strings- if I didn't value emotions and trust so much, I'd probably say premarital sex is 100% okay as opposed to basically okay. I think when you marry someone, you're committing to them, and saying, "I trust you physically, emotionally, etc."- Sex should be shared with someone you trust- if you don't believe in marriage, that's another thing- but I think people need to realize sex is something special that you don't go about sharing with every person you meet.

while its against my religion, i have done it.
i think that if the two people trust each other, its okay.
i think that sex with randoms you've met half an hour ago is bad.
trust, i think, is the main thing.
love, too. but more importantly, trust.

edit: i'm christian, if anyone was wondering.

I have no problem with it as long as they accept the consequences.
If they are irresponsible and dont use protection then they must deal with whatever comes after.

i am a devout christian and so is my girlfriend. we would never have sex before marriage because we believe it goes against the will of our god. however, this is just my opinion and belief so yeah. Teen pregnancy is uberbad so that is an issue that definitely needs to be addressed. anyway, if the two parties agree then it's their own free will and no one can really stop that. Unless their under sixteen of course. that's bad.

Anyone seen that show on MTV called "Engaged and Underage"? Wow, that is a serious shocker. I'm willing to be that 9 out of 10 of those couples wind up divorced because they were too young to understand what marriage is.

No doubt. I dislike that show. They profess their undying love for eachother, and yet they all seem to damn immatur because one or both of them is underage and hasn't grown up yet.

I really don't think it's some big deal if you have sex before marriage. I am not religious, so I really don't have any boundaries. Personally, I want to have sex before marriage and probably will.
I can't really pinpoint the exact reason, but I just find it really pointless to wait until marriage. No offense to anyone, that's just what I believe.
I mean, I don't want someone who's bad in bed! lol

Do you believe sex before marriage is good or bad?
I believe that you should only do something like that with someone you really respect but whether you're married or not doesn't make a difference.
Does your religion prevent sex before marriage?
I don't belong to a religion.
How do you think society impacts on young adolescents who have sex before marriage - and in what ways might they regret it?
I think society has a lot of impact on everything, but I belive that it shouldn't matter. The truly smart people are the people who can look past the standards society has set--gender, appearance, race, religion, age, and-yes-marital status--and decide what is right for them as an individual.

On a separate note, my boyfriend says we can't have sex until we get married, which is only slightly frustrating for me. Neutral

I don’t think it’s okay. It’s very unnerving and weird to me because I’m from a country where premarital is not a norm. Kind of rare, but it’s becoming more popular now, mostly because of MTV’s promotion of protection and the like. Something like, as long as you’re having safe sex, it’s ok to have sex. I don't believe in that.

Waiting until marriage has many ups...O_o I don't think you need a very high IQ to figure that out. Whether it's morally your thing or not, it's clear what the ups are. No worrying about STDs, unwanted pregnancy, emotional wreckage...

I find nothing worng with it.

I think sex is a beautiful thing and it it expressed between two people who love each other, married or not.

I've never had sex. But if me and my boyfriend continue you to be in love and I feel I'm ready sure, we're not married but I'm in love. And it's all about two people celebrating the love the two people have.

Except that 50% of marriages end in divorce, your partner could cheat on you, and not all couples want children.
