Aha.
In britain [or atleast where I am] we get to choose from a variety of
different exams to choose from. I chose to take the national exam
and you have to start from grade 1, going all the way up to a grade
seven. I've only just started singing lessons about 6 months ago
and I managed to get my grade one just last month :]

Haha. Okay...
I'll stop now.
But I've been looking for this.
I've been singing at a vocal academy for almost two years now, and I'm going to learn from two completely different teachers starting September.
I sing basically any genre, especially classical, pop, rock, and broadway opera.
Classical, I branch out more into.. I've done Italian and Latin classical.
Broadway opera strictly consists of Phantom Of The Opera.
And yeah...
I sang in a band for a few weeks before dropping out, and I have an upcoming performance which I'm doing a duet in.
Myself and my friend Gabriella, who usually sings in French. We're doing a duet of Angel Of Music from Phantom Of The Opera.
Anyways..
Yes, that's what I do. =]

You absolutly MUST sing for us on the Your Talent Thread.

How do you know what you are like alto soprano ect?
Aw. I'm flattered. If I get around to recording myself, I most certainly will.
And.. I'm actually not sure.
I'm not even sure what I am.
I will have to ask my teacher that when I see her in September.
I'll let you know.

I would like to learn how to sing too, I don't have a natural talent for singing, but my dad says I have a nice voice.

To take singing lessons, do you need to be able to sing pretty well first, or can you have 0 experience?
I'm pretty sure you don't have to have experience to start singing.
Well, that's probably just me though. It depends on the teacher, maybe.
I had experience before, so I'm not sure.
But I would think you wouldn't have to.

Actually, they go up to grade 8. If you get 8 you qualify to teach that instrument or, in this case, voice.

If you're doing "Angel of Music" you have to be a soprano - unless you're doing it in a lower key. But if you and your friend are doing the original, it's really pretty high. What kind of soprano I wouldn't be able to help you with - if you can sing low as well as high you could be a mezzo soprano - but yeah, anyways.

i was auditioning for a performing arts school
i sang Evanescence's Bring Me To Life and The Used's All That I've Got.

i would have gotten in if they weren't biased fuckheads who judged me on what i wore "Mcr shirt and blue and black hair"

i sing in a band and i play the bass clarinet. (i'm gonna learn bass guitar soon)

it's kind of weird singing in a band because i'm a REALLY high soprano (my highest is a high G) but it's kind of gonna be a flyleaf-type sound.... only bad. which is mostly due to the fact that we almost NEVER reherse..... lolz

i've taken voice lessons for 2 years now and i love it.

Okay, Im not in any classes, I have had no professional training or anybody whos helped me on my voice. Personaly I think Im a good singer, but not great. I would like to be in a band.....
I kind of want a voice like Hayley Williams in paramore, Well not really, I guess I want range and be able to hold notes without my voice cracking.
I also find that I cannot sing in the morning! I think it's because my voice isnt warmed up....
Yea, Im a n00b, can anyone help me with my voice? Please? Wow

I sing, play guitar, and a little bit of piano. I was lead singer and lead guitar for my first band... we were 'The Emo Corner'... we turned 'sweet dreams' by the Eurythmics into a screamo song. It was hella cool...
My second band is kinda generic... I play guitar and we're writing an acoustic song. Our lead singer is female, so we're going to sound something like Paramore.
On top of these, I write solo songs... I haven't recorded anything yet. It's all acoustic, though... some people have said that my songs are hella emo... I don't think so. Some are a little sad, but they're mostly happy...
