forget about the dirty looks

I wore a MCR black parade shirt in church one time by accident.
I was escorted from the church for being part of a 'suicide cult'.
My grandmother had a talk with me on the way home.
I even had to stay outside for 3 hours while my G-ma was in church.
She told me that "Being Gothic is one thing and wearing black is another."
The kids at my school found out because alot of them goto that church.
And I was shoved, had lit matches and razor blades thrown at me, I was called slut, whore, suicidal, loner, The counciler even had to talk to me.

Some people have labeled me as emo and a weirdo 'cause I like MCR and I like the color black. Most people I know love rap music and think rock music is dumb. But After a while, as people got to know me, the whole emo/weirdo label I had kind of faded, but I know at least 1 or 2 more people still think I'm emo. But I really don't care what they think about me, I'd rather be called a weirdo/emo for being different then being called "normal" for pretending to love rap music to just fit in.

it was a day after i saw MCR perform, both me and my friend were wearing the shirts we bot when we saw them. and we wanted to go for a walk near the beach, and as we walked down a side walk, some youth group passed us, and 3 of these girls gave us this look of disgust, we just waved at them. I also got glares at these 2 cheerleaders bc i was wearing anything that was MCR related, since it was one of the band members bdays. but i mostly got them at school, alot of ppl even said, why can't you be normal? and they just gave me this look like they were gonna spit on me. but the whole thing never got thru me

I get a lot of weird looks, people saying MCR sucks, and of course I get called emo and goth from random people at school. Those people don't even know what emo is and I am definitely not either of those. MCR is my favorite band no matter what and I just try not to let those negative comments get to me. I am who I am and I change for no one.

The only thing that gets to me is when my family says stuff. Like my aunt called me a goth and my sister called me a weirdo because of the music I listen to.

Old people driving in cars give me dirty looks ALL the time.
Same with little kids.
I have no idea why though.

in Bulgaria (or the hell for MCR fans in which unfortunatly I was born and I live) MCR fans are EMOS and all of them are being humiliated because they like MCR.Once I showed a photo of myself with my MCR T-shirt to the guy with who I was in love and he said :
I'm not interested in emos.Sorry!
Me:why do you think I'm emo?
He:those MCR are stupid gay emos

I just joined Meez a few days ago.

On there, you could go into rooms and change the video to any youtube video you want, so I picked MCR videos. Some girl kepy saying that I was emo, gay, and told me to go cut myself. I just kept saying "ROFL." After a while, I changed the video to "Shut Up" by Simple Plan, and then they left. They left right before I said "homophobia is gay."

Also, someone else called me goth. xD

I wish I was this invincible in real life, though. I guess the reason it didn't do much damage was I knew what they said was just based on close-mindedness, prejucide, and stereotyping.

I get called Emo
I have cats and Of course they always scratch me on my wrists.So here come the "Ugh Emo" scoffs and what not.And one time I got scratched really bad by a fence on my wrist so I got the same reaction from people. Ive had bad expieriences with the color pink,so I really dont like it.So much that I hate touching anything pink.So i get people sneaking up on me and waving pink paper in my face.And people tell me MCR sucks,so they get a big lecture about how good they are,until they tell me too shut up,then they get a bigger lecture until I tire myself out. Yep.

Oh my God, that's terrible! I feel bad for you! No one should have to go through that!

I've been kind of "lucky" when it comes to being called names...
But daily I hear comeplete strangers calling me 'emo' and many of them give me dirty looks when I'm passing by... Some old people has gotten like scared of me when I pass them on the side walk, they look terrified like I'm going to hurt them or something...
Some people call me 'goth' and 'punk' - but that's not very often nowadays... Some people are being very ignorant and call me things like "you fucking cunt" when I show no response when they call me 'emo'. Many guys are like trying to scare me when I walk past them... It's pretty annoying, but if I do or say anything back they might hurt me or something, so I try to pretend that I don't hear them, that they don't excist...

I can't wait until this hatred against "emo" stops... according to my opinion emo stands for "Emotional hardcore" which is a music sub-genre - and you can't be a music genre, right? I don't see emo as a fashion or a lifestyle like some people do, but nowadays, who knows what emo is? Maybe it's not what it once stood for anymore...

Oh! That reminds me; one of my middle school teachers basically called me a satanist. I always doodle all over my assignments, and I like to put a lot of embellishments on my name, usually I put a lot of stars and whatnot. So one day she pulled me aside and said that I had to stop doing that because "How would you feel if, when I graded your papers, put a cross by my initials.". I just kind of looks at her like "wtf?". It was funny.

eh i've been called all the normal stuff but the funniest (and stupidest) one was when i was in gym on day while we were being allowed to do whatever and this girl who none of my friends or i like walked by and she called me a crack whore.

I have christian beliefs but don't go to church because of all that crap.
Thats not having faith thats being religious, theres a big difference, I mean my mum's a christian too and absolutely loves My Chem.

Umm, escorting someone out of a church isn't being religious, it's discriminating.

I had to write about someone that inspired me in my English exam, and I got a really dirty look off the invigilator when she saw I was writing about Mikey Way. It was the dirtiest look you've ever seen.

Some fat old man on one of those mobility scooters knocked me over in Woolworths, and then looked at me like it was my fault. I often get followed by security guards, cause I generally have my hood up, or a hat on.

My head of year told me to get a hair cut before Presentaion Evening, because it 'wasn't suitable for a public environment', whatever that means...

I go to a school with a bunch of "perfect" prep kids and they don't like anything thats different. and i constatnly have people asking me if i cut my wrists or calling me emo and tell me to go cry in the corner. and if u try to be polite and start convos with people and the question " whats ur fave band" comes up and you say MCR, they flipout on you. and when people say " why cant you be like the rest of us?" i say " I LIKE BEING DIFFERENT FROM ALL OF YOU BECAUSE THATS WHO I AM! I DONT WANNA FIT IT WITH YOU BECAUSE THAT WOULD NOT MAKE GERARD WAY HAPPY AND I THINK I OWE IT TO HIM BECAUSE HE SAVED MY LIFE!" and then theyre all like yeah right, and im like HE DID! but you wouldnt understand cause all your brains are the size of peas. The worst thing i was called was an emo b**** who adores guys who like like vampires" and i almost punched the kid who said that to me because i knew he was insulting gerard but then i thought about what gerard said " Violence is not the Answer" , i could hear him saying it so i just looked at the kid and said " Im sorry you think that way because gerard way is my F***ing EASY PEASY PUMPKIN PEASY MOTHERF******.

this kid at my school who i hate a lot he goes up to me and asks if i went to an mcr concert, and i told him i did, and he was like, "did you all stand there, wrists in the air all, 'cut my wrists and black my eyes'?!"
i punched him, but i didn't get in trouble because he didn't tell anyone and wouldn't want his macho friends to find out that the "emo girl" beat him up.
