I don't really care about other peoples decisions. If they know that there are consequences in the end, then it's their problem. As long as they don't make others smokes and infest smoke in other peoples faces. |

i really don't get the whole peer pressure thing
if anything my friends discourage me from trying (jerimiah - heartlessly killed by snape)
my mum smoked, and she was always trying to quit, eventually she did,
her hating it really showed me how pointless it is.
although the movies really make it look cool! |

True, but most people only think short-term effects.
And it's not just cigarettes that can give you cancer, so you can't say that smoking causes cancer. It could be lots of different things that have worked together to cause a cancer.

No, but like scientists have proved that eating too many green vegetables, an unhealthy diet and living in a main town or near a phone mast can cause cancers.
Not that science is reliable. Remember the MMR scare from a few years ago? |

It's their bodies, and their lives, I'm sick of people slagging eachother off and having huge arguments about what people want to put in their bodies.

I hope I`ll never turn smoking. I could have broken my decision on never to smoke once in turkey where this one dude offered me a cigarette but I was just like "no thanks".

I don't mind people smoking but quite a few of my family smoke so i worry about them sometimes, but smoking can't be blamed entirely for things that happen to them, it's their lifestyle too. |

I used to smoke SO much; I had so much stress at school and it helped a little, but the addiction is so terrible and I coughed constantly so eventually I said F**k it and quit. Those things will kill you, so quit while you can. |

I consider myself a social smoker.
I enjoy smoking, HOWEVER.
I never buy cigarettes - I only have them if they are offered to me by friends (most of whom smoke)
I only ever smoke a couple of cigarettes at a time
I only meet up with my friends one day a week or so - so don't have access to them all the time
I know perfectly well that they're bad for me
I'm not addicted, and don't plan to continue for the rest of my life
I know, for DEFINATE that if i decided one day, just to stop. I would be easily be able to. It would only become difficult during time with friends, and I know that they would never force me to smoke or try and tempt me back into it.
I suppose I started purely out of curiosity, and desire to 'rebel' against my parents. It's not to look cool, or to fit in with my friends as they all know I don't smoke all the time. In my opinion, what I'm doing is better than sitting around with my friends telling them what a bad habit it is. It's been said before; it's THEIR decision, and with all the hype surrounding it, EVERYBODY is aware of the risks, etc.
Well, that's my situation and opinion. |

it makes no sense
cigarrettes dont help you out they make you worse
it gets you heavily addicts and causes you increase your rates in lung cancer.
which in this case is very very very bad

And it helps to relieve stress.
