Yeah, vegetarians benefit from lower rates of cancer, heart disease, obesity and whatever else. However, I have heard of someone becoming ill due to vegatarianism.
Isn't eating animals just part of the food chain? I don't really care if you're going to eat animals. It's just the way they're raised that bothers me and I can see how it bothers other. Especially when farmers feed their livestock meat. |

Age: 37 Gender: Female Posts: 2903 | February 6th, 2008 at 08:12pm Hmm I have been vegetarian fooor 9 years now. Since I was 12. I haven't ever really missed meat. I live on meat sustitutes like Quorn.. Mmm Quorn.
I didn't find it hard to do, I just stopped. I find it alot easier now, I hate making decisions... so walking into a restaurant and picking from three options is better for me than having to look at the whole menu.
It''s also easier because the three people I hang out with the most are Veggie too. |

Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 2094 | February 7th, 2008 at 07:21pm I've been a Pesketarian for about 3 years. I'm not really sure.
I'd become a proper vegetarian, but I need to eat fish. I don't eat it that often, and I only eat the same types (Tuna, Cod, Salmon, Pollock).
I'm going to New York for a college trip next week, and we have to pre-book one of my meals and the only vegie option is Pasta with Tomato Sauce, which might be okay for some people but Pasta makes me choke. I can't eat it. So, i'm not quite sure what I'm meant to be doing about that, but I'm hoping they can offer something better. |

God, let it go already and go have a block of cheese or whatever. I wish there was one place that I didn't have to hear it. |

i feel a lot healthier and better about myself
i was always slightly lactose intolerant, and when i started slowly cutting it out of my diet i realised that my body relaly is so much better off without it.
i wouldnt go back on it. |

Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 11393 | February 11th, 2008 at 03:49am I've decided to try out a 'pollotarian' diet for forty days and see how I go. [that sounds so bad for some reason]
I would give up all meat up completely, but I don't exactly eat enough variety of fruits and vegies ><
I don't eat seafood in the first place, so I'm good there I guess.

Pescetarians will eat no type of animal flesh except for seafood. In other words, they are vegetarians that eat fish, crustacean, etc. |

Age: - Gender: - Posts: 98506 | February 11th, 2008 at 11:51am yeah. and like, this might sound like a terrible thing to say.
but like, I really don't mind eating fish. because in my mind. it doesn't really have a "soul" per se.
like, I'm not saying animals have souls, but what I mean is like. you can't really bond with a fish.
and my motto is, "if you can bond with it, I won't eat it."
now, someone will probably come counterattack me with some unusual example of when someone did bond with a fish.
[and by bond i mean loves you back and etc.]
or some scientfic thing that fish do love or something.
but these are my morals, and I believe I am doing just fine by them.
and some people might think, "well do you eat reptiles then?"
but I don't, because you can bond with them too, and they infact do love you back.
[ask people who have pet snakes or lizards.] and same thing with chickens.
that's one of the main reasons why I gave up real meat, because when I was in third grade.
I had two pet chickens, and I actually loved them a lot, and they would sit on my shoulder.
[trust me, it was a site to see. haha. chickens are big birds when you're 9.]
and they would always run to greet me when they saw me.
I loved them very much, and I like to believe they loved me too.
and I cried very hard when they died, like. I cried for days.
and when I was in school, I wrote all over my papers.
"my chickens died. my chickens died. my chickens died."
so yeah. |

Uh, it'll be two years this spring since I officially went veggie, I guess.
I dislike Peta. I believe in humane treatment of animals, but I do it for environmental reasons mainly.
I don't think it's wrong to eat meat, I just think that the amount of meat being produced and consumed is unnecessary and puts too big of a drain on our resources.
I could go into detail about it, but yeah, that's the gist of it.
Oh yes, and I very occasionally will eat certain types of fish.
I already deal with a low iron problem, so I do it for health reasons. |

Awesome, thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuu.
I don't see too many people like me in that, and I feel like if I see another PETA "don't eat me" cutesy little animal, I'll go back to eating meat. -.- |
